A little problem solving for your Tuesday

Top:  Shop Sosie, with gift card  /  Skirt: Gap, thrifted  /  Belt:  Target  /  Shoes: Xhilaration, thrifted /  Bracelets:  Gifted (silver) and Baublebar via Birchbox

Let me tell you, this morning was much smoother than yesterday morning.  Hallelujah for Tuesday!  I am half way through my work week!  I don't have much to say about this outfit, other than I actively try to avoid black, so it feels weird to wear so much of it today.  I used to wear so.much.dang.black all the time and I reached a point where I felt like it wasn't as chic as it once was (for me, personally, at least).  All things in moderation, eh?

Do you ever tuck in striped shirts and try to match up the line of your skirt with the the line of the stripes?  Yeah, I found myself doing that this morning and realized it's pointless since I have to ... oh, you know... move and walk around throughout the day and the shirt will shift.  So, I stuck a belt over it.

Belts solve nearly every outfit problem, don't they?  Except for the shiftiness of this slippery shirt.  It does not help this slick shirt stay in place.  Now...  I don't want to give away all my secrets, but I do believe I've found a situation in which tucking your shirt into your underwear is necessary and appropriate.  And we'll just leave it at that.

Have a little looksee at a similar look:

  1. Have definitely tucked a top into my underwear before :D *sshhh*

This is really cute, and I think you look great in black - though I can totally understand being burnt out on it.

  2. haha! i hear that!

i wore loads of black, too. and i slowly tried to stop it from being my main color, and then suddenly i looked around my wardrobe and i didn't own a single pair of black pants. which is kind of a problem...

i like what your hair is doing!

    1. That is definitely a problem. I own, like, three pairs of black pants. More than enough for me!

Thanks. I've been taking the au naturel route lately.

Despite black being something you avoid, you look great here and its such a classic look. And yes, belts do solve all clothing problems!

    1. Aw, thanks!

I looove black -- I should probably get back into wearing it more. Lately, I've been in the mood to change things up a bit.
