Daria, Da-har-ria

Top and necklace were gifted, Cardigan and skirt were thrifted

Something about this outfit was not quite right, but it was comfortable.  So, I went with it.  I told the hubby, when I put it on, "I feel like I'm wearing a kilt."  Which doesn't really make sense, because a kilt is a skirt, and well ... I was wearing a skirt.  So, like, duh or something.  But, do you know what I mean?  Maybe I felt man-ish with the boots and skirt combo.

But then I realized what was nagging at the back of my brain.  I felt like Daria.

Please tell me you remember Daria!  That was one of my favorite shows in high school.  In fact, my nickname was Daria in high school.  And please let me explain before you close the screen.  One, I actually wear contacts, which means I wore glasses when I was in school.  And they were brown and round and sort of ugly.  Also, I used to have long hair and bangs cut straight across my forehead.  One day, in art class, someone looked at me and said, "I know who you look like!  You look like Daria!"

And it stuck ever since.  In fact, a friend from high school, who works at the Starbucks down the road, actually wrote "Hi Daria!" on my cup when I went through the drive-through the other day.

So, there you have it.  A little over-sharing for your Wednesday, which is also What I Wore Wednesday over on The Pleated Poppy.  I'm linking up with Lindsey today!

Also, if I'm not around for the next couple of days, Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!  I can pretty much guarantee that the rest of my outfits for the year will be featuring yoga pants and sweat shirts, since that's probably the only outfit I'll be able to fit into after I feast on all the food I plan on eating.
