A Review For You: theBalm cosmetic's Hot Mama

One of the samples in my January Birchbox was theBalm's Hot Mama Shadow & Blush All-in-One.  I've been using it strictly as a blush, because I would not be able to pull this off as an eyeshadow.  Birchbox's website also tells me that it's a highlighter, but to me it's just a shimmery blush.

The sample size is the size of an eyeshadow, so I couldn't use a large blush brush.  To apply it, I used my Real Techniques Contour Brush.  It actually worked better than expected.  If you dip this particular brush into the blush, just on the tip, and then work it in circular motions on the apples of your cheeks it blends very nicely.

I would say that the coverage of the blush is buildable.  I'm wearing it quite sheer in the photos above, but you can easily apply more for a more pigmented color.  It contains light-reflecting silica particles that give your skin a luminous glow, so no matter how you use your skin will look glow-y and gorgeous.

I'm very happy with this sample from my Birchbox.  When I run out of my sample, I plan on purchasing a full-size, which is $20 for 7.08 grams.

Have you tried this blush, or any of the others from theBalm?  Let me know if I should try any of their other products!
