June 2013 Favorites

Happy end of June!  I'm back today with my favorite beauty products from the past month.  I hope you enjoy!

Dove Advanced Beauty Clear Tone Antiperspirant & Deodorant, $4.79

This might be a weird thing to include in a beauty favorites post, but I've been super impressed with this particular deodorant.  I usually use an aluminum-free deodorant, but in the summer I need a little extra ... protection, if you will.  I've used the Dove deodorants before, and I always come back to them during the warmer months.  It smells great and works perfectly!

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray, $5.99

I have another favorite Not Your Mother's product!  This is a sea salt spray that adds texture and body to your hair.  I have fine, wavy hair that easily falls flat throughout the day.  Previously, I've featured their Curl Defining Cream, and that particular product does a really great job of holding my waves.  I wasn't sure if the sea salt spray would hold my style as well, but it does!  My hair felt light and looked tousled throughout the entire day.  I am super pleased with this.  The only thing that I recommend is that you use some sort of moisturizing treatment (oil or whatever you use) for your ends, since sea salt sprays can be drying to your locks.

Klorane Extra-Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, $7.50 for 1.06 ounces

This is from my June Birchbox (which I never did a post for!  shame on me!), and I love it.  Dry shampoo is a bit of a mystery to me.  I've only ever tried one other, from Suave, and it wasn't the greatest.  This dry shampoo from Klorane is perfect for my hair.  My scalp and roots actually feel clean after I use it (unlike the Suave one).  This is a product that I use at night before I go to bed.  I wake up with fluffy and refreshed hair!

Origins Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel, $14

Yup, this is being featured again.  Not much else to say about it, other than it's amazing.  I had a bad break out in June.  While I think I figured out what caused it, I needed something to clear up the spots.  I brought this product into my skin routine again, and it worked it's magic.  'Nuff said.

e.l.f. Mineral Infused Skin Primer, $6

This is a recent purchase, since the product that might have broken me out was a primer.  My hair stylist recommended this to me, and I completely trust her opinion with beauty products.  I am super happy with this primer.  It smooths my skin in texture and in appearance, and it helps my make up last all day.  When you work 10-hour days, you want your make up to still be on your face at the end of the work hours . . .  at the very least!  With this primer, my makeup stays on and looks great.  This will definitely be a re-purchase!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation, $9.99

This foundation is one that I purchased as soon as it was released earlier this year.  It's touted as being skin-like and very natural looking, and I can attest to those claims.  The shade is perfect for me, too, which is what I expect from Revlon.  It is a medium-coverage foundation and is easily blendable and buildable.  While I've applied this both with my hands and with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, it looks awesome applied both ways.  Without a primer, it doesn't last all day on my face.  However, I live in a humid climate and my skin gets oily during the day.  So, this might not be indicative of the staying power of the foundation on other people's skin.  With the e.l.f. primer I just mentioned, it lasts all day.

Maybelline 24-Hour Color Tattoo, $6.99

This was released earlier this year when Maybelline came out with a metallic line of the color tattoos.  This is a frosty (but not too!) pink cream eyeshadow/eyeshadow base.  I use this as a base to give my powder eyeshadows an extra color dimension.  It's easily to apply, as I use my finger.  It also helps my eyeshadow last longer and it's not drying!

Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Creme Bronzer in Warm Tan, $10.99

In case you've never noticed, I'm pale.  Yup.  It's out!  I am pale and pasty.  During the winter, I don't worry about bronzer too much.  But, during the summer, I want that glow.  You know?  I picked this up last month after seeing it recommended on Youtube.  It's creamy and easy to apply, and I've actually been using the sponge that came with it.  It's not orangey and looks very natural when I use a light hand (as I have to do with all bronzers).

thebalm Cosmetics Hot Mama!  Blush, $19

I don't remember if I've featured this in a favorites post yet, but here it is!  This is one of my favorite blushes.  It's that perfect shade of peachy pink and contains golden shimmer that gives your cheeks that perfectly glowy highlight that you want during the summer.  It has awesome lasting power, whether or not I'm wearing a primer.  I recently hit pan on this sample and have already purchased the full size from Hautelook.

Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm in Apple-a-Day, $5.99

I'm sure you saw my earlier review of these liquid lip balms.  This particular color has been a favorite since I purchased them.  I've taken it everywhere with me.  It's the kind of red that goes with everything.  If you'd like to read my review of these products, it is here.

And there you have it!  The products that I've been obsessed with for the past month.  I hope you enjoyed it.  I do have a minor announcement to make, and that is I created a Youtube channel to correspond with this blog!  It will feature makeup and beauty topics.  I had been trying to find a way to work in my love of makeup and beauty products here on this blog, but it just didn't jive.  I'm a bit too rambly for blog posts when it comes to those types of things, so a Youtube channel it is!

So, if you want to watch me nervously and awkwardly talk about my favorite beauty products, I've included the video below.  If you can't view it here, you can watch it on Youtube!

Thanks for reading!  I'm linking up with Dancing With Ashley for her monthly favorites link up.

I hope you have a great weekend!
