Makeup Monday: Summer Nail Polishes

I'm back today to talk about my favorite nail polishes for this spring and summer. I know it's not technically summer, but the heat keeps making me think it is!

I love wearing nail polish, but it's hard to find the time to do my nails.  This summer, I'm going to make a point to do my nails once a week (on the weekend, like I used).  I find when it's worked into my weekend routine, I'm more likely to keep up with my nails and they look healthier.

These are some polishes that I pulled out of my nail polish collection to use this summer!

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish in Lingering Spice, $4.89 online

The new(ish) CoverGirl line of nail polishes catch my eye every time I go to the drug store.  Not only do they carry a lot of fresh colors, but the bottles also make it easy to organize them in a small bin (like I do).  This color is called Lingering Spice, and it is so pretty.  I have it on my toenails right now.  In my opinion, it's a gorgeous summer red.  The staying power of this is pretty great.  I've had it on for two weeks and it hasn't chipped yet.  I do use a base coat, and the top coat I used is not specifically long-wearing.  So, I feel like I can attribute its staying power to the nail polish.

Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color in Club Havana, $1.99

This was the first color I used when my tootsies made their appearance for the spring/summer.  If I tell you one thing about this polish, I have to tell you this: BUY IT.  I wore this polish on my toenails for a month with only two chips, which I easily re-polished without any addition of a top coat.  This is a really pretty color, and the line has a lot of colors that would be great for summer, too.  At $1.99, you can't beat it.  And you can nearly always find them on sale!

Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel in Seashell, $7.99 online

This color is from Revlon's ColorStay Nail Enamel line, and it's been featured in their Summer 2013 Pacific Coast Collection by Gucci Westman.  The colors are inspired by the beach/ocean, and it wasn't easy settling on just one!  This is a gorgeous light peach color that I will be wearing a lot, because its neutral quality will easily compliment any outfit.

Essie Nail Color in Fiji, $8

If this color (or one like it) isn't a staple in your nail polish collection, it should be.  This pink is so gorgeous and kind of makes my skin look more tan (any amount of tan is more than my natural skin color).  If I ever can't decide on what to paint my nails, I go for this one.  Easy peasy pink that goes with everything and makes my nails look amazing!

Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in Bonsai

I couldn't make this small collection without throwing in a fun color.  This is not a color that will make it to my finger nails.  I would definitely reserve this for my toes, but look at it!  It's so much fun.  It's not a flat color, as it does have some irridescent shimmer (the good kind) and looks slightly blue-toned in certain lights.  This is one of my favorite shades of green and will get a ton of use this summer.

Now it's your turn!  In the comments, tell me what your summer nail polish picks are.  I'd love hear!!
