Thrifty Thursday

That's right, I'm bringing it back!  I'm bringing sexy back.

Just joking.  It's just Thrifty Thursday.

It has been soo long since I've done a Thrifty Thursday post, wherein I highlight my most recent thrifty finds.  Way back then, I felt like maybe my posts were enticing me to spend money at the thrift store when I didn't need to?  Turns out, I'll spend money at the thrift store no matter what I'm doing here on the blog.  So, without further adieu, here are my most recent thrifted items!

My go-to thrift store is (of course) Goodwill.  However, a consignment store that used to, ironically, be on my way home from work but somehow still so out of the way that it's not a quick stop, has moved into town so it will be easier for me to check them out during the week.  My friend took me for the first time the other day, and I felt like I made out like a bandit!

I got the two purses at that particular store.  The first purse is a Liz Claiborne and it is like-new.  It was also . . . wait for it . . . $3!  I couldn't not buy it.  Agreed?  Agreed!

The next purse is a mustard Aldo satchel, and it was $6.  I just couldn't say now to a $6 mustard purse.  The hardware isn't quite my style, but the layout of the purse was really great.  It has a divider pouch that splits the interior of the purse into two and two exterior pouch pockets on the ends of the purse.  There are also two zippered pockets on the front flap, but let's be serious . . . I'm not going to find anything that fits in those pockets.  This will be great when I'm in the mood for a pop of color.

The interiors of the purses were clean and lint/dust-free, so that was nice.  They smelled a little funny.  Actually, the whole store smelled a little funny.  I might put a small pouch of Downy Unstoppables in the purses to eliminate the smell, but if you have any suggestions for this, I am all ears!

I got this Willi Smith cardigan at Goodwill for $4.39.  This is a really great neutral color that will look great with a lot of things.  It's short-sleeved, and I don't have a lot of short-sleeved cardigans.  It doesn't button, which is totally fine with me because I don't button-up my cardigans most of the time anyways.  The rouching down the front seams and down the sleeves adds a nice touch.

Have I ever told you that I avoid the denim section of Goodwill?  I'm pretty sure I'm committing thrifting blasphemy, because I mean.  Really.  I should check out that rack more often.  I found these LOFT trouser jeans for $4.39.

I love this shade of denim, as it is perfectly distressed.  I'm also a sucker for details, like the color of the buttons and the interior waist band contrast fabric.

Some things I didn't include were two big kid Graco booster/car seats at $20 each (a steal!), and a $1 Shaun White button-up-, Paul Frank beach-y tank top, and a nice pair of grey pants for our oldest son.  I'm not sure if those items would've interested anyone, so I left them out.

Do you thrift?  Have you found anything fun lately?
