Makeup Monday: E.L.F. Studio High Definition Powder

Hi!  How was your weekend?  I hope it was great!  Today it's Makeup Monday, and I'll be talking about E.L.F.'s Studio High Definition Powder in Translucent.

E.L.F. Studio HD Powder in Translucent

I purchased this powder at Target after hearing a ton of people rave about it online.  It's super affordable ($6) and accessible.  This finely milled powder is used for finishing your face makeup.  This white version is translucent, and they also care a pink powder that is shimmering and a yellow powder that color corrects.  I have yet to find those in my Target, but would love to try them!

The HD element of this powder gives your face a soft focus glow.  The best way I could describe this is that it makes you look poreless.  My pores don't bother me.  I feel a little silly saying that . . . but I have large-ish pores on my cheeks.  Their appearance has diminished as I've improved my skin care, but the fact that you can see them doesn't bother me.  The reason I love this powder is that it sets my makeup, makes my face look matte, and reduces the redness on my face.  The poreless look is just a bonus, I suppose!

Another plus, for me at least, is that there is no scent.  My favorite (FAVORITE!) drug store powder is the Rimmel Stay Matte, and it has a slight talc-y, frangrance-y scent to it that bothers me a little.  Another thing I like about this HD powder is that it didn't look cakey.  I specifically over applied it to see what its "limit" is, and even though I kept applying it didn't cake up at all!  I am so, so impressed with that.

The only downside is that the packaging is a little messy.  If this product was in a Bareminerals package, it would be 100% perfect to me.  When I apply it, I tip the sifter portion of it upside down and put some of the product in the lid.  Its similar to flour, in that it floofs up in the air really easily.  Like I said, definitely a down side but not so bothersome that I won't repurchase this.

It's so fun to find my new favorite powder!  And at the drug store!

Today, I'm linking up with Carly and Molly for Funday Monday.
