December 2013 Favorites

December Beauty Favorites

This month was crazy.  Like, really really insanely crazy busy.  My favorites completely reflect that, because these are all things I can use without much thought.  Do you know what I mean?  Ironically, the majority of these items are new to me this month.  So, apparently I did have some time to try new things.

Urban Decay Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette

I have been using this eyeshadow palette every day since it came in the mail.  I have a review of it here, and I don't have anything else to say about it.  It's a great palette and I've figured out a couple color combinations that are lovely!

Bobbi Brown Even Finish Long Wear Foundation in Alabaster

This was one of my many (many ... sigh) makeup purchases in December.  I have completely fallen in love with this foundation.  During the winter, I return to my natural pale, practically translucent state.  I gravitate towards more expensive foundations that match me perfectly when I'm at my palest.  This foundation and my NARS Sheer Glow in Siberia match me so perfectly, they are both worth the price.  This Bobbi Brown foundation matches me even better than the NARS one (although, they both look awesome).  For reference, in Neutrogena I wear the very lightest ivory in the winter and the second lightest in the summer.  Although, the lightest is still a little too dark for me.

Julep Sweep Eyeshadow Palette in Neutrals

I received this palette in my December Julep box, and I absolutely love it.  The shade I love the most is the middle one.  I've been using it all over my lid in combination with shades from my Naked 3 palette.  The quality of these shadows is so nice, and they stay all day.

NYX Butter Gloss in Vanilla Cream Pie

I am 99% sure this has been a favorite before, and this month was no different.  If you have not tried this lip gloss from NYX, you need to get on it!  It's so creamy and smooth and moisturizing.  It also has that sweet vanilla scent that I love in lip glosses.  This color would look great on anyone.  You should definitely try it!

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner

This is the eyeliner that came in my Stila In the Light Eyeshadow palette, and it's amazing.  I can't find this particular color online, but it's simply a dark brown.  Applying black eyeliner is not my forte, so I tend to gravitate towards brown.  It's more forgiving.  This eyeliner is very smooth and easy to apply.  It's also long-wearing (are you sensing a theme this month?) and definitely think the $20 price tag is worth it.

Hour Glass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

I have been hearing so many things about the Ambient Lighting Powders from Hour Glass, I just had to try one for myself.  Well ... I actually bought two!  This is the first one I tried, and it immediately became my daily powder.  I will be posting a review of it some time, but it's basically a finely-milled powder that gives your skin the perfect amount of light to make your complexion look radiant.  Yes, I realize how unrealistic that sounds but this powder is really amazing!

MAC Lipstick in Syrup

This is an amazing everyday lipstick shade, and it's been in my desk drawer for almost the entire month.  For the rest of the month, it was in my purse :)  It literally goes with everything, so it's the perfect back up lipstick.

GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

Ahh... yet another hyped up product that I fell for.  This is an intensely exfoliating mask that leaves your skin looking glowing and perfectly fresh.  If you've ever used the Kate Somerville Exfolikate, it's very similar to that.  It warms up a bit and tingles on your skin and when you wash it off, you look like you have new skin!  This is something else I'll do a review on, so stay tuned for that!

Even though this month was so crazy busy (hello, holidays), I found some awesome products that will be in my beauty routine for quite a while.  This is my very last favorites post for this year.  How crazy is that?  One of my goals at the beginning of the year was to start doing favorites posts every month, and I had so much fun with it.  I will definitely be continuing this through 2014.

What did you love this month?
