Spring 2014 Fashion Trends

I was hoping that all my talk about spring fashion would conjure up some warmer weather, and today is actually going to be warm!  So, I'm back today with the spring style statements from Belk's VP of Fashion Arlene Goldstein.

Arlene predicts the upcoming spring styles will be feminine charm, clean slate, and jet setter.  I couldn't be more excited about these style statements!

Feminine charms is all about ladylike fashion!  Bold florals, interesting pearls, and heavy lace will be some of the main trends.  Popular colors will be navy, white, and (of course) all shades of pink.  For accessories, look for shiny gold, chain bags, and clutches.

The clean slate trend is one of my favorites.  Look for anything graphic, clean lines, and interesting textiles.  Black and white rules the roost, and it looks awesome with a pop of color.  Try wearing multiple rings, chunky heels, and bold cuffs.

Jet setter is so fun. Think neutrals with a tribal twist and interesting details.  Fabrics like silk and linen are inspiring, and accessories will be chunky and embellished.  Look for embellished totes and gladiator sandals.

Arlene also came out with a most wanted list for spring, and I've highlighted my three favorite items from it.

The maxi skirt is so fun for spring.  This year, try one in a new pattern or one with slits!

I am such a fan of the boxy top, so I'm excited that Arlene has included it on her Most Wanted list!

Vince Camuto, $69

Lastly, chunky heels will be the new silhouette for shoes.  I think this heel is so fun (and not to mention, easier on your feet).

I don't know about you, but I hope this warm weather is here to stay.  I can't wait to refresh my wardrobe with these style statements!
