Makeup Monday: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains 1

I am extremely excited about today's Makeup Monday.  First of all, you know how much I love lip products.  Second of all, you know that Revlon is one of my favorite drug store brands.  When I saw these Colorstay Moisture Stains at Target a month (or so) ago, I was extremely excited to try them out.

Basically, these are thick, moisturizing lip stains.  These are part of Revlon's Colorstay line, which is really great.  I haven't tried a Colorstay product that I haven't liked yet.

Now, my first impression of them was 'meh,' but only because of the texture.  When you first put it on your lips, it's pretty thick and gooey.  I know that sounds gross, but it gets better.

As it sits on your lips, it almost melds with your lips.  This is going to sound weird, but it feels like it is "one with your lips."  It dries and does not move around, all while moisturizing your lips.  I know!  It looks glossy but it doesn't feel glossy.  It's seriously very weird.  Albeit, a very awesome weird.

I bought two colors, London Posh and India Intrigue.  I highly recommend both of these shades.  London Posh is more natural looking, of course, and it has a bit of a sheen/frost to it.  Being that it's relatively close to my natural lip shade, it doesn't stain my lips.  But, as it wears off, it keeps my lips from looking "dead." Which is always a plus, in my opinion.

India Intrigue does stain my lips.  As far as wear time, I have color on my lips until I eat something.  If I put this on at 6 am and eat at noon, it lasts around 6 hours.  The color is not as vibrant at lunch time, but my lips still have a really pretty color to them.  It also does not come off on my coffee cup/water cup straw thing.  It seriously stays put!

Since I took these photos, I purchased a third color called Barcelona Nights.  It is a gorgeous deep berry color.  I also highly recommend that color, as well!

Have you tried these yet?  What do you think of them?
