Birchbox September 2014

Birchbox September 2014 1

This month is Birchbox's birthday!  Birchbox is now 4 years old.  I first subscribed a couple months before their first birthday.  It's hard to believe I've been getting my boxes for that long.  I used to pay monthly, but now I just renew my subscription every year for my birthday.  :)  It's no secret that I love monthly subscription boxes, but Birchbox was my first and holds a special place in my beauty-loving heart.

Dear Clark Resurrecting Wash & Rinse

How cute are these little samples?  I love apothecary-esque packaging.  I've never heard of this brand before.  This brand is actually hand-made in Texas!  The shampoo is restoring.  It's safe for keratin- and color-treated hair (yay).  It has really awesome ingredients that hydrate, soften, and protect your hair.  The conditioner, which is called rinse, does the same thing as the shampoo.  You can use the shampoo, followed by the conditioner for five minutes, and then rinse; or, you can wash twice if your hair is severely damaged, followed by the conditioner for five minutes, and then rinse.  I plan on using it both ways to see how I like it.

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate

I think I've tried one Shiseido product before and, honestly, I can't remember what it was but I do remember loving it.  This is a pretty pricey brand, so it's not the kind of product I'd buy before sampling.  This skin treatment goes on before your serum and moisturizer.  This protects your skin from different things that age it -- dryness, air pollution, UV rays, and stress.  The active ingredients are a botanical blend of ginkgo biloba leaf extract, Japanese shiso leaf, and wild thyme.  It can be used day and night.  I'm very happy with the size of this sample. We'll see what it does for my skin!

Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy Gold Couture

No.  :(  This is so not my favorite scent.  It's not awful.  The notes are wild berries, honeysuckle, and jasmine.  The base is amber, caramel, sandalwood, and vanilla.  It's a little too complicated for me.  I prefer simple floral scents.  If you like warm scents, you would love this.

Temptu S/B Highlighter

Yessss!  This is so pretty.  The color is champagne shimmer, but I really think it looks more rose gold.  I don't have a highlighter like it.  A little goes a long way, so I think this sample is going to last quite a long time.

Tell me what you got from Birchbox this month!!
