Makeup Monday: Summer Beauty Essentials & Giveaway

Teeth Whitening Trays by Smile Brilliant I was sent a whitening kit from Smile Brilliant to review.  All opinions are mine alone.

Summer Beauty Essentials 2

Although it feels like summer has arrived in Eastern North Carolina, I know it's technically right around the corner.  My summer beauty essentials are already making appearances in my purse and on my vanity.  Here are the products I've been reaching for lately!

Summer Beauty Essentials 1

Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme

This is a staple in my body care routine, but I definitely use it during the summer.  It's a little on the oily side (in a good way), but it sinks in quickly and keeps my feet moisturized for the entire day.

Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen

I've tried quite a few face sunscreens, and this is one of my favorites.  It does everything it claims -- it's sheer and it feels dry on your skin.  Those two things are priorities for sunscreen, in my book!

Clinique Lip Butter Shine Lipstick in Pink Beach

This is a lipstick I've talked about a ton  here on my blog and on Youtube.  This is my third tube of it, so it's my most re-purchased lipstick.  It's a tad pinky, bronzey, and shimmery all at the same time. It's literally the perfect summer shade for your lips!  Bonus, it's super moisturizing, too!

L'Oreal Voluminous Manga Rock

This is a new favorite.  Apparently, super thick lashes are a thing now (who knew?), so the advertisement initially turned me off it.  But, I decided to give it a whirl and guess what?  I love it. Here's the thing.  It's meant to be crazy voluminous (emphasis on the crazy), so I only need one coat! It's the best mascara for when I'm running late in the morning, because I barely have to fuss with it.

Living Proof Humidity Shield Styling Spray

My hair is naturally wavy, so humidity makes it look like a fuzzy beast in the summer time.  I've been using it for a couple weeks and it's quite impressive.  It keeps my hair frizz-free when it's both straight and wavy, a feat accomplished by not one product before.

Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening Trays

I have loved whitening my teeth for quite some time now, but I haven't done it in a while.  With the amount of pictures I take of our family, I want my teeth to look perfect in photos.  And, given the amount of little day trips we have planned for the summer, we will be taking a lot of picures!

In the past, I've used a couple different ways to whiten my teeth, I was previously using a tooth paste that quickly whitened my teeth over a few days.  Then, I switched to a more natural tooth paste.  I haven't gone back to the over-the-counter strips that I first tried years ago.  I was contacted by Smile Brilliant to try their custom teeth whitening trays.  Since I was contemplating what to use going forward, I decided it was definitely time to try them!  I've wanted to try custom trays from my dentist, but they are super expensive.  This option is more affordable than going to my dentist.

Smile Brilliant's whitening trays are completely custom to your mouth.  I was nervous about making the impressions myself, but it was so easy!

After you put the paste in the plastic piece, you stick it in your mouth and bite down.  Then, you repeat for the other piece.  It was literally that easy.  You just have to make sure it's dry before you put it in the return envelope.  Then, you mail it back and get your trays back within 7-10 days.  I think mine came back within a week.

Smile Brilliant does not send back the molds, but they sent mine back so you can see how detailed they are.

How cool is that?  As soon as I got my trays back, I started using them. I was sent three gel syringes of the whitening gel and three gel syringes of the desensitizing solution.  My teeth are sensitive, and I've experienced sensitivity issues with whitening treatments that are less potent than this one.  So, I have been using the desensitizing gel after the whitening treatment.

I absolutely love using these custom whitening trays.  Not only do they fit my mouth, but the whitening gel is strong so I don't have to use it very often.  I am including before and after pictures. The picture on the left is a picture I had on my camera from before the whitening gel, and the picture on the right is after I used the whitening gel three days in a row.  I don't think I needed to use it the third day, but thought I'd do it anyways.

I am very happy with the results.  I frequently drink coffee and tea, so my teeth are not this white for a long period of time.  Since this whitening gel and custom trays are so effective, I will probably do this every once in a while just to maintain the whiteness.

And, now, for a very special giveaway!  Smile Brilliant is giving away a store credit that will cover either the Teeth Whitening Trays + 3 whitening gel syringes and 3 desensitizing gel syringes or the Teeth Whitening Trays + 6 whitening gel syringes.  You can change your select and if the price exceeds the credit, which will be $139.95, you will pay the difference.  This giveaway is open internationally, but an international winner is responsible for the shipping cost of sending the impressions back to Smile Brilliant.  The giveaway will be open for two weeks.

To enter the giveaway, please go here.  Smile Brilliant has set up a special giveaway site for us!  You can also use my coupon code to receive 5% off their entire product list.  The coupon code is rebeccalately and it expires on July 31, 2015.
