So, the idea behind these products are that you can control how sheer or opaque the lip color is. The product is in a twisty/mechanical pencil form, which is nice since you don't have to sharpen it like a lip pencil. It has a smudger on one end, so you can smooth the color over your lips. For these photos, I applied the colors very heavily. In the video below, I demonstrate how to apply it sheerly and then buff in to create a wash of color that is still quite pigmented.
As far as the colors, the Berry Misbehaved as been my favorite. This product lasts quite a long time, all the way to lunch. It does rub off after I've eaten food, but I expect that with most lip products. The color range is great, and I like the price point (around $8). I've included links to additional color below. At this price point, I can buy a good range of colors. These have a matte finish, but they're not drying. I can't stand when a matte product dries out my lips. You'll most likely never see me mention a dry, matte product, unless I'm complaining about it.
Have you seen this product at the drugstores? I would love to hear your thoughts on them! Let me know what your favorite color is.
