NEW SKINCARE | BOTANICS SHINE AWAY

These products were sent to me for review.  All opinions are mine alone.

I recently shared my updated skincare routine.  Of course, I'm always up for trying new products, especially if it's from one of my favorite brands.  Botanics recently sent these products over for me to try, and I was definitely excited to try them.  If you recognize the brand, they were previously known Boots Botanics.  One of the products they sent me is my favorite Ionic Clay Mask.  It was really great to know that the mask hasn't changed at all, just the label has.

Since I've reviewed the mask before (you can read it here) and my opinion hasn't changed, I'll just share again that I love it. When my skin is breaking out or just feeling icky, this is the mask I use.  It just makes my skin feel amazing and so much less oily.

Botanics Shine Away Invigorating Face Scrub

This was the first time I tried the Shiney Away Invigorating Scrub.  It's a gel-like scrub with intense exfoliating particles in it.  Scrubbing my face every morning helps my skin stay clear, so I was very interested to try this out.  The directions suggest using it 2-3 times a week, and I can honestly say they are right.  I thought I could use this ever day like my other face scrub; however, this invigorating scrub is just ... invigorating!  And it's intense.  This is really great if you like a really good exfoliation a few times a week.

Of all the products, I was the most excited to try this day cream.  I've been on the hunt for a good, cruelty free, mattifying day cream that doesn't break the bank.  This ticks most of the boxes for me, but unfortunately the scent is a little too much for me.  I should clarify that I love the scent of the cream when it's in the jar.  It smells clean and fresh and ever so slightly citrus.  On my face, it smells different.  I'm sure that sounds weird, but it literally smells different on my skin.  It gave me a headache, but I get headaches easily when my sinuses are bothering me.  My allergies have been really bad lately, so I will hold off using this until my allergies have settled down.

Scent aside, it feels so fresh and smooth on my skin.   I really enjoyed the clean feeling when I was wearing it.  For the most part, it did mattify my skin.  Aside from my nose being a little shiny, this definitely delivers on the mattifying properties.

Have you tried any of these products? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them!
