Happy Halloween-ie, everyone! Is anyone else glad it’s over? After essentially four days of Halloween activities, I’m a little glad to put away the costumes. We had a lot of fun, though! This year, I dressed up for the first time in a very long time. Our boys are into Batman, so I decided Cat Woman would be a good costume for me. They only really know Cat Woman as Lee Meriwether from the 1960’s Batman movie. She also appeared in a couple of the tv show episodes, but not as Cat Woman.
This Halloween costume was completely diy. I wore a black shirt, dark gray pants (simply because they were the darkest, most comfortable ones in my closet), and black flats. In the morning, I started with some big, blown out hair half-pinned back.
It really looked bigger in person. In fact, I got a lot of compliments on my poof. When I explained that this was the ‘beginning’ of my Cat Woman hair, someone said I should wear it like this more often.
When we got home in the evening, I slapped on some make up and threw on my ears.
Like so.
The deets:
Eyes
Lorac Baked Eye Shadow in Posh (matte white)
Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Virgin (shimmery white)
L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Black (winged out on top lash line)
Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in Jet (dotted along lower lash line)
Maybelline The Falsies Flared mascara in Blackest Black (top/bottom)
L’Oreal Voluminous Original mascara in Black (top only, at base of lashes)
Cheeks
Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural (seriously love this stuff)
Lips
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Petal (first)
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude (layered on top of Petal)
I was really happy with the way my makeup turned out. This was the first time that I’ve successfully winged my eyeliner, so yay me. If I had had more time, I would have worked on my hair a little longer. It was quite bouffant-y, but definitely could’ve been bigger. I feel like the hair made Lee Meriwether’s look in the movie, so it was important that I stuck with the big poof and the ears kind of stuck in my hair.
Overall, a successful costume and a successful night. Even if our trunk-n-treat did get rained out!
