I feel like this product needs a drum roll. This was, easily, the product that I was most excited about. If you’ll remember, Laura Geller is my current holy grail makeup brand. I have been incredibly impressed with her blush-n-brighten and now her spackle.
The color might throw you off, though. I received bronze in my box, and I was very afraid that it would look too dark. I’m super pale — I don’t even have to look at the foundation shade that I purchase. I just purhcase the lightest shade. And sometimes it’s too dark.
But enough woe-is-me, this is about Laura Geller. This product gave my skin a bronze-y sheen without being shine. Sheen without the shine! Birchbox tells me that I can wear it alone, but I didn’t really like it that way. Under foundation, it makes my skin look clear and even. And glowy. I love glowy. It’s not just a color-enhancer, though, it’s primary purpose is being a primer. My makeup doesn’t go anywhere when I’m wearing this.
This is, without a doubt, my favorite product out of my October box. I’m using it very sparingly, but I expect it will take me a while to work through this sample size. As far as the price, it’s on the expensive side but not too expensive for me. I don’t use primer every day, so I feel like I can splurge a bit on it.
(For comparison’s sake, my other favorite face primer is Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer. It runs $36 for 1 ounce, where Laura Geller’s is $25 for 2 ounces. I think we know which one wins my vote!)
