Please excuse the cryptic post title and the fact that I will not be discussing fashion today. Yes, thank you, my outfit was comfy and I love it. Now, for more important things.
As of today, I am the mother of a 5-year-old. Our oldest turns 5 today (and, technically, he’s not 5 until 4:01 pm). It’s so sad and exciting at the same time. Now! For the real kicker. For his birthday, he wants to go camping. Can I get a big ‘UGH’? Tomorrow, we’re packing up the car and heading out west to go camping in the mountains. I’m pretty sure I’m going to die from whatever can get you in the woods — mosquitoes, bears, west nile virus, three whiny kids* … oh, wait, there’s actually going to be five kids.
It’s a whole family event. Three cabins, five camp sites, and a TON of my hubby’s family. There will either be strength in numbers or no one will notice when I’m plucked from the group by a bear looking for a snack.

*in case you can’t tell, I’m not the camping type. like i told a friend yesterday — “i like going outside, i’m just not outdoorsy.” i’m hoping to be surprised and end up loving it.
