You will never guess what happen to these shoes about half way through the day. They. Broke. Broke! My awesome retro, strappy, thrifted wedges broke while I was wearing them.
Luckily, as I noticed that they were, indeed, broken, I was stepping out of my car at the Goodwill. “Perfect!” I thought. “I can only hope that while the shoe gods were not gracing me with any sort of shoe luck today, that maybe the thrifty gods would shine down on me so I can find some shoes and get back to work before my lunch hour ends … in 10 minutes.”
And so it goes, I went straight into the Goodwill, rifled through the shoe shelves and walked away with a very nice, barely worn-looking pair of flat sandals. Truly a fairy tale ending, in my book.
