I am excited to have this review for you today.
GlassesUSA contacted me last month about reviewing one of their
products, and I gladly accepted their offer. I don’t know if anyone has
noticed, but I’ve been wearing my glasses
more often. My eyes have become super dry and sensitive lately, so my
contacts are getting the boot for a bit until my eyes heal. According
to my ophthalmologist, I have severely inflamed eyelids. A mixture of
allergies, allergy medicine, dry weather, being sick, etc., and my eyes
have taken a beating. Anyways! That’s not the point of this post, is
it?
The only online glasses company that I have to
compare GlassesUSA to is Warby Parker, which is where I ordered my black
eyeglasses. You can see them in this post. When I was ordering my Warby Parkers, I had a hard time deciding between Nedwin (the ones I purchased) and Zagg. So, when GlassesUSA.com contacted me, I decided to look for a shape/size that is similar to Zagg.
When I ordered my glasses from GlassesUSA, I went with the style called Dune Brown.
They were on sale for $38. Here was my thinking when I decided to
order one of the cheaper frames. I love glasses. If I could, I would buy glasses in different styles to wear every day of the week. But, we all know that prescription glasses are ridiculously expensive. So, if I can find a less expensive high-quality pair of eyeglasses, why not order a couple of different styles if I like this first pair?
All
right, so I knew that I wanted a Zagg-ish style. Basically, a larger
rectangle shape with rounded bottom edges with a thick top outer edges.
Did that make sense? Hopefully. GlassesUSA offers a virtual try-on
feature on the site, and I utilized it. I virtually (ha, see what I did
there?) can’t remember how many glasses I tried on when I was browsing
their site. Here’s a try-on screen that you can play around with, too!
I placed my order on January 3 and received my
glasses on January 15. I was pleased with the ordering, and it was nice
to get order status updates throughout the process. The only thing
that I was disappointed with was that the anti-reflective coating didn’t
come automatically with these glasses. But, when you consider that the
glasses are only $38, it’s not a bad deal. The anti-reflective coating
is $19, so the total is $57. Seriously, not bad at all!
Here is what the glasses look like.
The glasses come with a case and a microfiber cloth.
And here is what they look like on me:
(just ignore that pile of clothes in the background. it’s not laundry — it’s our Goodwill donation pile)
Aren’t
they cute? I am super happy with them. The brown is the perfect
shade. It’s not too boring, but it’s still a teeny bit “out there” and a
change from my usual black. Seriously gorgeous.
In
addition to GlassesUSA’s gorgeous high-quality glasses, they also offer
110% lowest price guarantee and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. They
have a refer-a-friend program
wherein you can get $30 for each first purchase a referred friend makes
and use that $30 towards your next pair of glasses. Make sure to check
out their Facebook page and Twitter feed with exclusive discounts for fans!
GlassesUSA also provided me with a coupon code for my readers. You can use the coupon code Blog10 for 10% off your order. You can also check out their Coupon & Promotions page for their most up-to-date sales.
Review
aside, I can’t express the gratitude I have for eyeglasses companies
that offer affordable frames and lenses. I have worn glasses for the
vast majority of my life, and it’s refreshing that style and
functionality can come together in an affordable little package.
GlassesUSA sums it up well:
“Seeing
properly shouldn’t be a luxury — it should be a necessity. We do our
best to help our customers and we take their visions needs very
seriously by providing our customers with top quality lenses in the most
fashionable frames available!”
GlassesUSA
provided me with a gift certificate to purchase these glasses, for the
purpose of a review. I am under no obligation to give a positive
review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
