It’s Birchbox time! You probably already know what Birchbox is, but in case you don’t you can learn more here.
Basically, it’s a makeup sample subscription service. Every month, you
receive 4-5 deluxe samples of high-end beauty and/or life style
products. I’ve received quite a few full-sized items, so it definitely
pays for itself. So, here we go…
This month’s theme is the Red Carpet. We don’t have cable and the channels we do get don’t always come in well, so it’s mostly frustrating for me to watch awards shows! Although, I do love watching them. I also love scouring E!’s website the next day for pictures of the clothes and makeup. 🙂
Here’s what I got in my box:
Juicy Couture Couture La La, $90
I’ve sniffed this a couple times so far this evening, and I really like it! I would describe the scent as fruity and floral. It’s a really great balance of both. Birchbox’s website tells me that the notes are mandarin, green apple, lily of the valley, and orange blossom.
Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle, $21.95
I’m excited to try this spray. The ends of my hair get so tangly, even though it’s not very long. This will be on my vanity to try tomorrow morning!
Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm, $36
This is definitely my favorite sample this month. BB creams are something I’ve heard a lot about but have been nervous to try. I probably wouldn’t spend the money to randomly buy one at the drug store, so I’m glad this sample was in my box this month!
Color Club Fiesta Collection in Wild Cactus, $8
Pantone’s color for 2013 is emerald, and now I have it! I don’t remember if I’ve said it here or not, but I’m kind of behind in trends. Trends come and go, so sometimes I don’t pay them any mind. If I end up liking a trend, it’s after everyone’s gotten tired of it. Birchbox is throwing me into the emerald trend! hahaha… I really like the color, I just don’t know how to work it into my wardrobe or beauty routine.
And my extra was . . .
Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel Squares, $4.95
This is easily the most disappointing thing in my box. I’ve had Ghirardelli about a million times. 😛 I do love this, so I’ll be enjoying this with my coffee tomorrow afternoon. But, yeah. Ghirardelli? Really?
Overally, I’m happy with my box this month. The only disappointing product was the extra chocolate. My favorite samples are the BB cream and the hair protectant spray. I’m super happy with the perfume sample. It smells good. And I have a feeling the nail polish will be used quite frequently.
