Happy Monday! Today’s makeup post is about the new Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm. I found these at Target, and they retail for $4.99. I am a sucker for new lip products, so I picked up three different shades. I wanted to get a good range to try. They are Nude-trients (obviously, a nude), Blooming Balm (a pink), and Apple-a-Day (a red).
These are lip glosses that have the moisturizing properties of a balm with the glossy color of a lip glossy. Great, right?! Lip gloss is so easy for me to put in my purse to touch up with during the work day, so I was all over them. They glide on nicely, although I wish more product came out on the applicator. It takes a few swipes to cover my lips.
The scent is ah-mazing! Seriously, amazing. You will want to eat these. It has a sweet vanilla-y scent. The moisturizing properties are also ah-mazing! I have super dry lips, and sometimes when I wear lip gloss and it’s worn off throughout the day, it leaves my lips feel dry and parched. Not with this one! My lips feel smoothed and moisturized even after it’s worn off.
As far as pigmentation, what you see in the tube is what you get on your lips for the most part. You can still see your natural lip color through the light shades, but they add a nice “filter” of color that enhances your lips. The darker shade that I got, which is Apple-a-Day, is very pigmented. I would say if you like pigmented lip gloss (which isn’t always my thang), don’t go for the light shades. Other than that, I would wear any of the shades! Except for the orange one. I don’t look good in orange.
These liquid lip balms last a decent amount of time. I drink a lot of coffee and water throughout the day, and they lasted longer than other lip glosses I’ve tried. If you’re not the type to always have a drink by your side throughout the day, these would last a long while on you. As for me, I would reapply mid morning and then after lunch.
And that’s it for my review! I am glad I purchased these on a “whim.” I mean . . . I kind of buy beauty products on the regular, so it wasn’t exactly a “whim.” But, Almay products don’t usually catch my eye.
Tell me, tell me! Have you tried these yet? What do you think of them? If you have them, what colors do you have?
