It’s Birchbox time! You probably already know what Birchbox is, but in case you don’t you can learn more here.
Basically, it’s a makeup sample subscription service. Every month, you
receive 4-5 deluxe samples of high-end beauty and/or life style
products. I’ve received quite a few full-sized items, so it definitely
pays for itself. So, here we go…
This month’s theme is Power Play and Birchbox teamed up with the USA show Suits to bring you products that do more with less.
Kerastase Bain Chroma-Riche – Cleanse
This is a shampoo for damaged and color-treated hair. I have both, so I am excited to try this particular shampoo. I tried a Kerastase product earlier this year that I fell in love with, so I am excited to crack open this sample the next time I wash my hair! It also came with the corresponding hair mask…
Kerastase Masque Chroma Riche – Treat
And this is it! This mask should be applied to freshly washed hair, left in for 5-10 minutes and then rinsed out with warm water. This is also for damaged and color-treated hair.
It took me a while to “buy” into the hype of BB creams. I have one from Dr. Jart that I love, but I don’t have that itch to try anymore. I’m a little skeptical of CC creams, just as I was with BB creams in the beginning. This is a complexion correction CC Cream. Hyperpigmentation is a concern of mine, so I am anxious to get this one my face asap to see if it works!
This is a night time acne treatment. As I have blemish-prone skin, this is perfect for me. I’ve been dedicated to my Origins Super Spot Remover all year. Although I already have my holy grail acne treatment, I’m not opposed to try a new one! DDF is supposed to be a really great brand, and this sample is huge.
This is a product from a brand that I’ve been eyeing for a long time. These are buffing beads made from pomegranate peels that you add to your regular cleanser. This sounds like a fun addidtion to my skin care routine.
And… I saved the best for last. I was SO freaking excited to get this in my box.
WEI Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask
This is a mud mask from WEI that purifies your skin. I’ve been wanting to try this forever, but it’s super expensive (like $42 for 8 of these pods . . . although, I hear that you can get 3 uses from each pod). So, what you do is paint a thin layer of the mask on your face, wait 10 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. You better believe I’ll be trying this tonight!
Overall, I’m super pleased with my Birchbox. All of the items I received related to some of my beauty concerns. I will be digging into these as soon as possible!
If you want to see me have a bit of a stupid freak out moment over the mud mask, you will be able to watch the video here when it’s uploaded. Which might take a while, considering how slow my internet connection is. Seriously, it might be tomorrow. But, even more seriously, it’ll probably be tonight. 🙂
