At the risk of sounding redundant and cliche, I have to ask you. Where did July go? I am not usually very sad at the end of the summer, but I’m feeling a little blue that we’re already at August. At any rate, the end of the month means a new favorites post! Doing these favorites posts (and now Youtube videos) was part of my New Years resolutions for my blog. I’ve enjoyed these more than I thought I would!
This month was all about bronzed skin and bright nail polish for me. I’m going to start with skin care first.
This has been my favorite, favorite cleanser to use with my Clarisonic. It cleanses my skin so well without making it feel stripped and dry. It smells fresh and clean, too.
Suki Face Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser.
I was surprised to like this cleanser. I received this in my June Birchbox (I never got around to posting about it, but you can watching my unboxing video here). The foaming element of this product made me nervous, since foaming products trigger break outs on my skin. This exfoliating cleanser is used in place of my Clarisonic/fresh Soy Face Cleanser every once in a while. It contains lemon and sugar, which makes it smell so, so good!
Pur Minerals CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40
Okay, so we’ve all heard about BB creams. Well, now they’re coming out with CC creams. To be honest, I was completely skeptical when I saw this in my Birchbox this month. But, this has turned into my absolutely favorite skin care product this month. I apply this over my day moisturizer (not sure if you should do that, but it’s worked really well for me). It’s a multipurpose product in that it moisturizes, protects (the SPF), primes, brightens, conceals, and works on correct hyperpigmentation. I wouldn’t believe that it does all that if I hadn’t used it. I started using this product in the middle of a break out, and the scars from my spots have already faded! I’ve only been using this for a little over 2 weeks, but I already know I’ll be purchasing the full size when my sample runs out.
Moving on to makeup…
Bareminerals Well Rested Powder Concealer
I went to a blogger fashion event earlier this month and had my makeup done by Bareminerals. Afterward, I loved this under eye concealer so much that I purchased it. I’ve been using this to actually set my Rimmel concealer under my eyes. It gives me a little more coverage and keeps my concealer set all day long! Love, love, love it!
Rimmel Blush in Pink Sorbet
I’ve owned this blush for a while, so it’s definitely become a makeup staple for me. This is a peachy pink matte blush that gives your cheeks the prettiest hint of a glow. I haven’t found this blush online. This one was purchased at CVS. I’ve been pairing it with my next favorite.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Mineral Powder Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess
This has been my favorite bronzer this month, and it’s been looking great with the Rimmel Pink Sorbet blush. It’s described as a highly pearled light yellow gold, and I think that sounds pretty accurate. It’s not heavy on the skin, and it’s not orange-y. This is a great bronzer option for pale skin.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze
Along with bronze-y skin, I’ve been loving a bronze-y eye look. This bronze eyeshadow stick is smooth and creamy, so it’s super easy to apply. It also stays all day. I line my upper lashes and then use an eyeshadow brush to smudge it out a bit.
Last, but certainly not last…
I love painting my nails, but I get super impatient when I have to wait for them to dry. When I saw these at Wal-Mart, I was all “yes please!!!” These really do dry in 60 seconds, assuming you don’t goop it on. If you do goop it on, you have to work fast to prevent streaking because it dries so fast. This is not the kind of nail polish that can be worn solo. A base coat and top coat will definitely lengthen the life of the polish. What I like to do is apply a second top coat the next day to prolong it even more. They have a ton of super fun, super bright summer colors! If I remember correctly, they were either $1.99 or $2.99 at Wal-Mart. So worth it!
Apparently, I was having a moment with Rimmel this month. Rimmel always works its way into my favorites in some way or another. I also have and jewelry and clothing favorites that I featured in my favorites video, which you can watch here.
Today, I’m linking up with Dancing With Ashley for her favorites link up and Because Shanna Said So for Random Wednesday!
