It’s that time again! Time to round up my favorite beauty items and share them here and on Youtube.
This month, I had more makeup favorites than skin care favorites. Usually it’s a little more balanced than that, but I didn’t switch up my routine much this month.
Formula 10.0.06 Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask
I picked up two Formula 10.0.06 masks at Ulta. I’ve seen this brand before and since they were on sale, it was the perfect time to try them out. This particular mud mask has orange and bergamot in it. As it dries on your face, it feels warm. It was so nice, and my skin felt clarified after using it.
Formula 10.0.06 Pores Be Pure Clarifying Mud Mask
This is another mud mask from the same brand. Can you tell they’re my favorite type of mask? The main ingredients in it are strawberry and rosemary. Rosemary is supposed to be great for acne-prone skin. My skin felt super smooth and refreshed after using it. Very nice!
Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream in Light
I could get lost in all the drugstore BB creams out there. Seriously, it’s confusing. The only BB creams I’ve fallen in love with are from Dr. Jart. This is the first drugstore one I’ve tried, and it’s really nice! It feels like a tinted moisturizer but has a little bit more coverage. It has SPF 30 (a must for my pale skin) and it made my skin look and feel great.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
This has been a favorite for a while. I used it a lot this month. It’s such a great color that is perfect year-round.
I bought this mascara to try out the primer end of it, and I ended up loving the whole thing! Sadly, the primer is not as good as the Lancome Cils XL Booster that I love so much, but it’s definitely a great drugstore alternative. It kept my mascara from smudging and made my lashes longer. The mascara end is an amped up version of their Voluminous Mascara (such a classic).
Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara
Yes, another mascara! This is a teeny tiny sample that’s been sitting with my mascaras for a while. I usually love high end mascaras but don’t love the prices, if you know what I mean. Despite that, I had to include because it was so nice. It was lengthen and thickening, while still looking natural.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Palette in Comfort Zone
This is a classic nude-ish eyeshadow palette from the drugstore. The eyeshadows from Wet and Wild are amazingly pigmented for the price. The 8 pans are priced at $4.99 and are completely worth the price! This is a great palette if you’re looking for an inexpensive palette that gives you a couple more interesting colors.
Revlon Photoready Kajal Intense Eye Liner + Eye Brightener in Carbon/Cleopatra
I’ve been wanting to try Benefit’s eye brightening pencil, but at $20 a pop it won’t be jumping into my online shopping cart any time soon. I found this eyeliner pencil at Target and immediately jumped on it, at $7.99. The white end is great for lining your bottom waterline (and smudging out slightly, since it really is intense) to make you look more awake and bright-eyed.
NYX Powder Blush in Pinched
I have made it my own personal mission to try every single NYX product and report back my findings. … Just joking. I did go a little overboard last month when I randomly saw that my Target is now carrying NYX. This is the first blush I’ve tried from the brand, and I have worn it every single day in the month of September. It’s gorgeous and has a highlighting effect that perfectly brightens the cheeks.
E.L.F. Translucent Matifying Powder
I may have found a better powder than my Rimmel Stay Matte! This is a translucent powder from E.L.F. that mattifies so well. It’s also .99 less than the Rimmel one and doesn’t smell like perfume. I will always love the Rimmel powder, but this one has become a very close second!
Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish in Sugar Coat, Tropicalia, and Bite the Bullet
As far as nails this month, I have gone back to a tried and true classic. Another product from Wet n Wild, these are their Megalast nail polishes. These are quite a steal from the drugstore. They take one coat to fully cover your nails and they last well over a week on my finger nails. On my toes, they last at least 2+ weeks! These are some of the more natural colors that they offer.
And that concludes my September favorites! I hope you enjoyed that. Apparently my theme was classics this month, as I revisited items that are tried and true favorites and found new products that will be in my routine for a long time.
