Today, I’m bringing you something a little different. I’m going to show you how to curl your hair and create lasting curls with the Conair Curl Secret. The Conair Curl Secret is an automatic curling iron. Yes, you read that right. It curls your hair for you.
How awesome is that? Now, for reference, I have fine, wavy hair that looks slightly curly when I let it air dry. The kicker is that my natural wave/curl falls out throughout the day. Bummer, right? I have yet to find a styling product that doesn’t weigh my hair down while maintaining my style for an entire day.
So, earlier this year I resorted to learning how to curl my hair. I have a straight iron and one of those conical wand things (ironically, both from Conair) and I just don’t have the skills to make my hair uniformly curly. It’s a total “IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME” thing. Only literally.
Along came this Conair Curl Secret. It curls my hair evenly, it takes no time at all, and hair was still curly the next day. Win, win, win! It also doesn’t burn me, which inevitably happens any time I use my straight iron to curl my hair. Without further adieu, we will get on with the hair style I created.
Okay, all joking aside, this was literally the scenario when I was getting ready this particular day. I really put this Curl Secret to the test*
You’ll want your hair to be dry. And you’ll want the Conair Curl Secret to heat up (duh). The Curl Secret has a few settings. You can choose High or Low heat, and you can choose the length of the curling time (8, 10, or 12 seconds). For this look, I chose low heat and 8 seconds.
Proceed to pin back the top sections of your hair.
Prep a small section of hair (about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches), place it in the Curl Secret, and close it. You will hear it start to curl your hair.
All the beeping can be confusing, but wait until it has successively beeped four times. Then, release your hair. Make sure to open the Curl Secret first, and then release your hair. If you pull the Curl Secret away while your hair is still in it, the curl will come loose.
Continue around your head and finger comb your curls!
I played around with a couple styles, although leaving it as is would look just as pretty!
I really can’t tell you how much I love this. The best part about it? I mean, aside from its curling my hair for me (um, and not burning myself)… the best part is that it’s super accessible. I found this at my local Wal-Mart, and it was $99. That’s $50 cheaper than ordering it from Curl Secret.
