It’s Birchbox time! You probably already know what Birchbox is, but in case you don’t you can learn more here.
Basically, it’s a makeup sample subscription service. Every month, you
receive 4-5 deluxe samples of high-end beauty and/or life style
products. I’ve received quite a few full-sized items, so it definitely
pays for itself. So, here we go…
Last Thursday, I received my October Birchbox in the mail and I couldn’t wait to show you what was in it! This month’s theme is Beauty Buzz, which features products that the beauty community have been obsessed with. I received a product that has been on my “to buy” list for a while.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser & Muslin Cloths
This is a product that I have read a lot about over the past couple years. Liz Earle is a UK brand that has finally made its way over the pond to Birchbox! The Hot Cloth Cleanser is similar to a cleansing balm in the way you use it, but it is not solid like a cleansing balm. Basically, you massage it over your skin (makeup and everything), then you wet the muslin cloth with warm water, steam your face just a bit, then exfoliate your skin and wipe off the cleanser. It’s the only cleanser that I used this weekend, and I already love it.
Miss Jessie’s Creme de la Creme Conditioner
This conditioner is for parched hair. It can be used on curly or straight hair. It moisturizes and detangles. This is going to be awesome for hair, because I basically do all the bad things to my hair (color it, heat style it, yadda yadda). I am excited to try this!
I’ve said this before, but perfume samples are hit or miss with me. Luckily, this one has been a hit so far! Basically, perfume makes my husband sneeze quite a bit and bothers his allergies. I stuck this one under his nose on Thursday, and voila! No sneezing! It smells so lovely and contains notes of jasmine, rose, citrus, and woodsy-floral. (I had to read about it to find that out. I am not smart about perfume at all)
POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Floating Rose
I have a couple products from POP Beauty, so I am familiar with this brand. I have not heard of the Aqua Lacquers, but this brand is from the UK. It must be popular over there, and I can see why. It’s a sheer color but also has quite a high shine that’s nice. The applicator is different. It’s actually a teeny tiny plastic paddle. Kind of different, and the color went on smoothly.
ChapStick Hydration Lock in Vanilla Creme
The ChapStick was included in the box as a Birchbox Find, which is basically like an extra I think? It was in addition to the 5 samples, so no complaining here! This ChapStick formulation contains the antioxidant CoQ10 and hylaluronic acid, which is a magnet for moisture. They also included a $1 off coupon to use on the ChapStick (they don’t sell it in the Birchbox Shop).
Overall, I’m super excited about my box this month. I have a feeling this going to be one of those boxes where I love everything!
What did you get this month?
Today, I’m linking up with Molly and Carly.
