Before I was doing favorites posts every month, I’d hear/read Youtubers/bloggers say “I don’t know where this month went.” There is something about documenting the end of each month that makes you realize how fast time flies.
All that to say: “Where did October go??” It’s Beauty Favorites time!
This month, my skin had some serious freak out moments. I brought out some high end products that work really well. One item not pictured is my REN AHA Resurfacing Concentrate. I use it and love it so often that it should honestly be in my favorites post every month. Other than that, the skin care products that saved my skin this month were:
This is from REN’s Radiance Renewal line. All the products in that line work on your skin to make it more radiant and healthy. I have yet to be disappointed with a REN product. This serum is perfect for when your skin is looking dull and lackluster. My skin feels moisturized and plumped after I apply this.
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light
This is a jumbo sample I received from Sephora. A little goes a long way, so this sample is actually going to last a long time. It feels counter intuitive to apply oil to a greasy, acne-prone skin. However, I think it’s more important to apply oil when your face is breaking out. I’ve found that my break outs heal faster if I apply oil to them regularly.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
This serum is a bit of a cult classic with Estee Lauder fans. It has been reformulated, and these samples were at the counters when they released the new version. This serum contains hyaluronic acid, which is basically a moisture magnet. If you have dry or dehydrated skin, hyaluronic acid helps your moisturizer work even better. I used this serum while I was sick this month, since my skin easily gets parched when I’m under the weather. At night, this would go under my moisturizer.
If you remember earlier this month, I purchased two Tarte blushes. I have been obsessed with this particular shade, which is Empowered. It is so lovely. It’s the perfect balance of bright and neutral. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it really is bright without being too bright. The claim on this line of blushes is that they last 12 hours, and I can confirm that they do. I want to buy every color in this line!
Another cheek product that I’ve been obsessed with this month is my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. Yes, it smells like chocolate. I love putting this on my face every morning. It actually suits my pale skin if I use a light hand. It’s not orange-toned at all, so it gives my cheeks that perfect bit of warmth.
This month was the month of the basic eye for me. What is a basic eye, you ask? Well, it’s a phrase I just made up. Basically, I’ve been wearing pale eyeshadows, liquid eyeliner, and awesome mascara.
First up, we have this NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt. Think Urban Decay’s Sin eyeshadow in cream form, because that’s what this is. It’s beautifully shimmery without being too shimmery and it can be worn on its own without creasing.
If I wasn’t wearing the Yogurt Eye Pencil, I would wear an almost bare lid. Basically, I would sweep my Laura Geller Eye Spackle over my lids. It is a primer, but it also neutralizes the skin. For me, it neutralizes my dark/veiny eyelids. Unlike the primers that give you a powdery finish, this one looks natural.
For my lash line, I’ve been using Jordana’s Fabuliner in brown. It’s cheap and does the trick! I found this for $2.99 at my Walgreens. It has a wonderful felt tip that’s super fine, so it’s easy to get that little flick with minimal effort.
Last but not least, I’ve been obsessed with Clinique’s Bottom Lash Mascara in Black. I have never worn mascara on my bottom lashes as much as I have this month. I’ve always had trouble with mascara smearing under my eyes, so I take the easy road and leave it off my bottom lashes. The raccoon look isn’t good for anyone. The Clinique Bottom Lash doesn’t smear at all. It’s amazing!
If you’ve made it this far, congrats! This felt like a very wordy post. 🙂
