November has come and gone (how did that happen, by the way?) and December is upon us*. Which can only mean one thing. I take that back. It means a lot of things. But, right now, I’m talking about Birchbox. It’s almost time for another Birchbox. I never got around to unboxing mine when I received it, so I decided to hold off until I could review the items at the same time.
You probably already know what Birchbox is, but in case you don’t you can learn more here.
Basically, it’s a makeup sample subscription service. Every month, you
receive 4-5 deluxe samples of high-end beauty and/or life style
products. I’ve received quite a few full-sized items, so it definitely
pays for itself. So, here we go…
November’s theme was more good. November is full of all that is good — family, food, and thankfulness.
First up, they included a large bar of Ghirardelli’s new Mint Cookie bar. Do I need to tell you this was delicious? Cause I think the name gives that away. It was so rich and indulgent, I could only eat a small bit at a time.
LA FRESH Oil-Free Face Cleanser Wipes
Let me tell you, I was impressed with these wipes! I tried another kind of wipe from La Fresh in November, and I liked this version better. It swiped off my makeup really well and it smelled good. Even better, it left my skin feeling fresh and clean. Face wipes are not a staple for me, but these were very nice!
Tiossan Body Cream in Terranga
Um, could this not be $38, please? Because it’s not in my budget at the moment, but it’s so so nice. This body cream leaves your skin feeling perfectly moisturized. Unlike other moisturizers, my skin did not feel greasy or sticky! I received the scent Terranga, which was absolutely lovely. Birchbox tells me that the notes are mandarin, apricot, and rose. It smells so good! This is going to sound weird, but it smells just like a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils. (10 points if you know that movie!) I know that sounds weird, but that smells is so calming.
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir
This perfume is by the well-know Juicy Couture. They certainly have a lot of perfumes, don’t they? This is definitely my fave from them. It contains the scent of honeysuckle, berries, and sandalwood. I love the muskiness of sandalwood, but sometimes it’s overpowering. Not so with this perfume! Oh, and bonus? It didn’t make my husband sneeze. That seems to be the ultimate test for me with perfumes.
Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace
This is easily my favorite item from the box this month. This is a pencil form of highlighter. You can use it all over your face, even in your waterline. When I used this for the first time, it was an instant favorite. You see, I have extremely sensitive eyes and, as such, I avoid using highlighting eyeshadow in the inner corner of my eye (even though it looks really, really pretty). The chance of getting eyeshadow in my eye simply outweighs the prettiness. But, with this creamy highlighter pencil I can highlight my inner corner, blend it in a bit, and not worry about anything getting in my eye. If you also have sensitive eyes, I highly recommend this.
Color Club Nail Polish in Top Shelf
This is part of the Cocktail Hour collection from Color Club. I love the Color Club polishes! They are easy to apply, opaque in two coats, and try relatively fast. They also have super fun colors. This gold shade is going to be seriously used during Christmas.
Overall, this was a really great box! I can’t wait for my December box to get here. It’s like getting a present in the mail every month.
If you get Birchbox, what was your favorite item from your November box?
*along with the end of November, let us mourn the end of my 20s. Today is my 30th birthday. If I seem MIA today in the comments or on Twitter, it’s because I’m doing some damage at the mall(s) in Raleigh. What better way to ring in your 30s?
