Time for monthly favorites! I have so many favorites from this past month. At the beginning of January, I cleared out my daily makeup basket and stocked it with new things and old things I’d forgotten about.
Let’s get crackalackin’!
First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay
This is the cleanser I’ve used this month with my Clarisonic and I love it! I purchased the Sephora Favorites Cleanse bag, and this is one of the products in it. The combination of rosemary, red clay, and antioxidants work to remove excess oil from your skin. I can tell an immediate difference in my skin. It also has a slight menthol-y scent to it (very subtle!) that I find refreshing.
Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation in 110 Ivory
This foundation has been a favorite of mine for a while. I alternated between this and my Bobbi Brown foundation this month. This foundation has a very smooth finish and stays all day. In the summer, I use a shade darker. You really can’t go wrong with Revlon foundations, in my opinion!
NYX Eye Shadow Base in Skin Tone
I purchased this a few months ago and just now started using it. I wanted to use a cream based eye shadow primer this month, because I wanted my metallic taupe eye shadow to be vibrant and stya all day. My shadow stays so well when I use this under it. It’s a great eye shadow primer!
Epic Blend Hemp Coconut Lip Balm
I received this in my Beauty Box 5 box for this month, and it has seriously saved my lips this month. My lips get horribly dry when the weather is cold, and my lips haven’t chipped once since using this!
MAC Eye Shadows in Dazzlelight and Satin Taupe
In December, I purchased some MAC eye shadows for the first time. Since they are kind of expensive, I went for colors that I love and use frequently. Taupe is such a gorgeous shade for either the crease or all over the lids. It’s very versatile! And I rarely wear makeup without a high light on my brow bone. It instantly brightens my face. Dazzlelight is the perfect amount of shimmer.
This has been a favorite for some time and continues to be. Hypnose Star is a volumizing mascara, but I also find it to be lengthening. It doesn’t say it’s waterproof, but it never smudges on me. This mascara is pretty pricey, but so worth it!
E.L.F. Translucent Matifying Powder
Last year, this replaced my beloved Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and it’s still going strong. I went through a bit of a dry period when the weather was changing last year, and it didn’t look good on my skin at that time. Now that my skin has rehydrated a bit (from drinking more water and using products with hyaluronic acid in them), it’s looking good on my skin again.
Paula’s Choice RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum
This was in my Birchbox this month, and it’s instantly become a favorite. The thing with skin care samples is that it’s hard to know how your skin’s going to react to such a small amount of product. But, every once in a while there comes along a product that works so well, that you know immediately it’s good for your skin. This is one such product for me. I applied this at night before my moisturizer and in the morning, my skin felt perfectly moisturized.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout
I have yet to do a review on this new-ish line of lip products from Revlon. My opinion has waivered a bit on the lacquer portion of this line, but the matte balms are awesome! This is the red shade from the matte products. It’s a gorgeous brown-toned red that is very flattering. I’ll have to break this out in February for Valentine’s Day!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo
Another dark lip color! Normally, I love pinks, nudes, and corals/peaches. This month, I’ve wanted bolder colors. The formulation of this lip cream is so nice and smooth. It’s matte without being too dry, and the color stays for hours. I want to try more colors in this line!
E.L.F. Eyebrow Kit in Medium
I ran out of my Revlon eyebrow pencil, so I decided to finally try this out. I’ve had it in my eyeliner drawer for a while, so it was about time. The darker color is a wax product that adds color to your brows and fills them in. I already have thick eyebrows, but I like them to look even and filled in. This shade is perfect for my brows, and I’m super pleased with it! It may or may not have replaced my Revlon eyebrow pencil.
Stila Convertible Color in Peony
This is quite the versatile product. You can use this cream color on your cheeks and your lips. I have only ever used it on my cheeks, because I don’t think it would suit my lips. I apply it with a Real Techniques Stippling Brush, and it gives my cheeks the perfect flush of color.
Clinique Blushing Blush in Iced Lotus
This is a long time favorite! Clinique’s blushes are so nice. This particular color is medium pink with a gorgeous glow to it. I love it all year round.
Serge Normant Meta Revive Dry Conditioner
Y’all. This stuff is amazing. You know how much I love my dry shampoo. I prefer to wash my hair every 3-4 days. The thing is, when I do that, I straighten my hair. And I obviously use heat to do that. The ends of my hair are generally pretty dry until I wash/condition my hair again. Until I received this in my Birchbox this month, I didn’t know dry conditioner was a thing! This leaves my ends so smooth and soft. It’s basically spray-on argan oil. My hair straightener also glides through my hair when I use this!
That’s all I wrote, folks. If you got through all that, thank you!
What are your favorites from this month? Tell me about anything! It doesn’t have to be beauty related.
