March Beauty Favorites 2

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

I have been a huge fan of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders for the past few months, so when they came out with blushes I was super excited!  These are marblized blushes that are half ambient lighting powder, half blush.  I purchased Luminous Flush and Diffused Heat.  So, Luminous Flush is the Luminous Ambient Lighting Powder with a blush, and Diffused Heat is the Diffused Ambient Lighting Powder with a blush.  They give your skin the perfect glow.  Don’t let the deep blush color fool you — they are quite sheer and buildable.

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk

So, my Clinique counter apparently doesn’t carry my favorite cleansing balm anymore.  The lady at the counter suggested this cleanser, and I am so happy she did!  I didn’t even know they made this cleansing milk.  It is smooth and creamy and makes my skin feel so wonderful.  It does remove makeup, but I love using this in the morning.

Boots Botanics Cleansing Toner All Bright

You know how much I love my toners, and this month I have two favorites!  This is a very affordable toner that brightens your complexion.  It contains natural, plant-based AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) that keeps your skin smooth.  I use this in the morning.

Indeed Labs Pepta-Bright

Y’all.  I was so excited when I found this in my Walgreens.  For the longest time, I’ve been waiting for Walgreens to start carrying Indeed Labs products (particular Hydraluron).  First, they got Snoxin and Nanoblur.  Then, they got Eyesilix and Pepta-Bright.  I am literally holding my breath for Hydraluron to show up!  Anyways, this Pepta-Bright is a wonderful cream-serum.  I use this after my toner and before my moisturizer, morning and night.  It clarifies the skin and makes your skin look radiant.  Sound too good to be true?  It’s not.  I am so happy with how my skin looks when I use this, it is definitely a staple in my routine!

Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer

I am officially addicted to trying Kate Somerville products.  I cashed in 500 points at Sephora to get a ‘best of Kate’ kit.  This was one of the products in the kit, and it is awesome.  It’s the most basic moisturizer that still makes my skin feel super hydrated … if that makes sense.  It absorbs excess oil and hydrates to minimize lines and the signs of aging.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic

I bought this in December from Birchbox and finally got around to trying it!  This toner is very hydrating, and I feel like it’s improved the moisture level of my skin.  I put this in a glass spray bottle, because I like spritzing my hydrating toners.  It has a slightly floral scent that I love smelling at the end of the day.  I only use this at night, since it’s super moisturizing.

Caudalie Premier Cru La Creme Riche

Enter stage left: the nicest sample I’ve ever gotten from Sephora.  I’m a VIB at Sephora, which basically means I’ve spent too much money there over the past year.  Anyways, VIB’s sometimes get different promotion codes for items (usually expensive products).  I saw this in an e-mail and jumped on the chance, since I actually needed to order something anyways.  This is a super thick, rose-scented moisturizer that is actually for dry skin.  I don’t have dry skin, but it is dehydrated so I pack on the moisture!  I love Caudalie products, and this is one of their most expensive ones.  I’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to afford a full size fo this, but I will enjoy the heck out of this sample!  It’s so nice, and I only use it at night.

John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Flat Iron Spray

If you saw on my Instagram my little straight hair experiment, then you will recognize this products.  I received this in my Influenster box in February.  This is a spray that you apply to damp hair.  You then blow dry your hair and straighten it.  This will keep your hair smooth, shiny, and straight for up to 3 days or until you wash it.  It is amazing and left my hair looking so healthy.

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil

This was a surprise favorite.  I got this huge sample in a Sephora Favorites box.  I was apprehensive about slathering an oil on my legs, so I tried this on a day that I would be home.  Well, my worries were squelched the moment I put it on my skin.  It sinks in so fast that your skin is not greasy, oily, or sticky.  In fact, I much prefer putting this on my legs instead of lotion, especially when I’m wearing pants.  A little goes a long way, and it has a lovely natural scent.

Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask Shine Away

I tried this mask out in February and March and fell so in love with it!  I love clay masks, as they absorb the excess oil on my combination/oily face.  This particular mask does just that and also hydrates.  Your skin will feel so smooth and nice!

March Beauty Favorites 4

L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur

If you saw my Drugstore Primers post from earlier this month, you’ll recognize this.  This such a nice primer.  It smooths the texture of your skin and gives your foundation the perfect base.  My foundation looks so nice with this primer, and it lasts all day!

Soap & Glory Hand Food

An oldie, but a goodie.  I love this hand cream!  It’s extremely moisturizing and has a pleasantly sweet smell. There’s not much more to say about it — it’s so nice, and I always go back to it in between other hand creams.

Lancome Translucence (Loose Powder)

I’ve been trying out loose powders lately, because I’ve heard they’re better for oily skin.  Basically, when you have a pressed powder there is some sort of liquid product that keeps the powder together in the pan.  So, you’re adding more than just a powder to your skin.  If you have oily skin, then it could possibly make it look even more oily during the day.  I’ve been looking for a drug store loose powder, but I have yet to find one that isn’t powdery (except for my E.L.F. HD powder … but I want one that has color to it, and the HD powder is a white setting powder).  When Lancome was doing their gift with purchase, I decided it was the perfect time to try a high end loose powder.

This powder is mattifying and absorbs oil.  I rarely have to blot my skin on the days I wear this.  With a pressed powder, I feel the need to blot my skin around 10-11 in the morning.  With this loose powder, I get oily around 4 pm (close enough to “going home time” to not worry about blotting).  I am so happy with this.  It’s silky and gives my skin a smooth, even look.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Eyeshadows

Talk about high-low, right?  I love Wet ‘n’ Wild eyeshadows, and I used these two quite a bit this month.  These are nutty and creme brulee.  They are my drugstore equivalents to my MAC Satin Taupe and Dazzlelights (not dupes, just similar).  Nutty is so gorgeous as a one-shade eye look.  It looks darker in the crease and highlighted on your lid.  They are simply gorgeous together!  And, I’ve purchased the single shadows for .69 on sale before!  Totally worth it.

I have one more favorite that I couldn’t photograph, because I used them until they died.  My KISS Sultry Lashes were definitely a favorite this month.  I couldn’t be happier with them, and as soon as my Walgreens gets them in again (they’ve been sold out for over half the month), I’ll be getting a new set.

So, wow. That was a lot, but I couldn’t not include all those.  April will be probably less heavy in the favorites department 🙂

And now it’s time for my monthly giveaway!  This month I am giving away:

Boots Botanic Cleansing Toner
Boots Botanics Clay Mask (the only clay mask I could find at Target!)
John Frieda Flat Iron Spray
Soap & Glory Hand Food
Wet ‘n’ Wild Eyeshadow in Nutty
Kiss Natural Lashes in Sultry
