So, I’ve done quite a lot of shopping so far this year. My thriftiness took a bit of a break, and I’ve been shopping at actual stores (even if they’re online) instead of Goodwill (mostly). I’ve still been shopping at Goodwill, but the new to thrifted ratio in my closet has been skewed the other way. I reached a point where I wanted specific things for my closet that I just couldn’t find at thrift stores, no matter how long I waited and looked.
I don’t regret buying things brand new, but I have missed the thrill of finding amazing things at the thrift store. Spending the money I spent didn’t end up in regret, either, because I bought things that I’ve been reaching for over and over again. For example, these jeans have been my favorite to wear on the weekends (and on Fridays since I’m off now!)
But, these jeans were one of my last new purchases, and afterward I felt kind of done. You know? Like, I’m ready to buy pants for $4.39 and shirts for $3.39 again.
If you thrift, do you ever take a break to find things you want that you can’t find in thrift stores?
