A couple weeks ago, I was contacted by Ashley from Perfectly Posh to review some of their products. The moment I looked at the website, I knew this was going to be my thang. Perfectly Posh is a beauty/pampering company that specializes in products that give you moments of escape.
So, they basically had me at “hello.” Also, the names will make you giggle. Or smirk. Or both.
Everything is is naturally-based and made here in the USA! Nothing is over $25. Also, if you buy five products, you get the sixth free. How awesome is that?
Ashley was so nice and sent me a ton of a samples! I am going to give my mini review for them and you’ll have a chance to win my favorite product (plus a bonus pampering product!).
Classic Snarky Bar
This is a soap bar that’s super gritty and exfoliating. The main ingredients are shea butter and sugar. It gives a pretty intense exfoliation, so I wouldn’t use this every day. And that’s a shame, because it smells so good. I’m creepily hoarding the last little sliver of my sample because I just want to smell it forever.
Moisturize 911 Caffeinated Face Creme
This face creme feels so, so good on my skin. It also smells amazing! The moisturizing ingredient in it is glycerin. My skin felt smooth and hydrated. Even though I loved the scent, it was a little too much for a face moisturizer. I loved this, but it wasn’t my fave.
The Stripper Dtox Body Mud
You’ve heard me rave about the awesomeness of the Kate Somerville Exfolikate, and this mud mask is eerily similar to it (minus the weird cinnamon scent). This is mud/clay mask that you can use anywhere on your body. It draws out impurities and cleanses your skin. I actually used this on my face, and if I hadn’t been used to using the Kate Somerville Exfolikate, I would have been turned off of it. It’s pretty intense. I didn’t need to keep this on my face more than 2 minutes. After I rinsed it off, my skin felt incredibly smooth and cleansed.
Dragon Mojo Skindelicious Body Butter
This is, without a doubt, the best smelling body moisturizer I’ve smelled in a long time! I don’t know how to explain the scent, but it contains cocoa, glycerin, caffeine, wasabi, and ginger. The scent was floral, fresh, and yummy. Emphasis on the yummy.
Tree Hugger Sugar Lip Scrub
This was by far my favorite product. I love a good lip scrub. The scent of this one is so yummy. And it’s not only exfoliating, it’s moisturizing, too! The scent is brown sugar, strawberries, and coconut.
The Daily Grind Daily Body Scrub
How cute is that name? This is a body scrub, and I felt like it was equal parts moisturizing and exfoliating. It was much gentler than the Classic Snarky Bar. I really love the scent of coffee, so this was nice for me!
The Healer Skin Stick
So, funny thing about this Healer Skin Stick (the sample in the pink container in the picture). I thought it was chapstick the first couple times I used it! It is actually a balm stick for anywhere on your body. It can heal scraps, cuts, and moisturize dry skin. That totally explains why I love it on my lips. My lips are insanely dry, and they felt so nice and smooth when I put this on them. Side note: you can use it anywhere, so I wasn’t really using it wrong at first. I just didn’t realize you could use it on everything. I started using it on my elbows and they do not look dry anymore.
Delish! Sulfate Free Foaming Face Wash
Yes! A thousand times yes! If you’ve read any of my makeup/beauty posts about skin care, you’ll know that I avoid sulfates in cleansers. They dry out my skin and also make your skin more alkaline. Acne (hence, bacteria) thrives in an alkaline environment, so sulfates are good to avoid if you’re acne prone. So, sulfates make your cleansers foam. This particular cleanser doesn’t contain sulfates and it foams! It doesn’t foam as much as a sulfate-containing cleanser does, but that doesn’t bother me. I would describe it as frothy. I absolutely love this cleanser. My skin felt cleansed but not dry.
Down With Dirty Big Fat Yummy Hand Cream
This one of my lesser favorite products in the bundle of samples, but it was still nice. It moisturized without making my hands feel greasy, but the scent wasn’t my favorite.
Gender Bender Chunk Big Bath Bar
I am such a fan of charcoal in beauty products, so this was a winner for me! I feel like it’s redundant to say that soap feels cleansing, but I love when a soap feels cleansing. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes soap feels greasy or overly moisturizing. But, this one didn’t. And the scent is so nice. According to the website (because I couldn’t quite put my finger on what the scent was), it is light pine, amber, and fresh air.
And that’s it for my reviews! I sincerely appreciate Ashley taking her time to send me these samples. I love trying out new brands and products, so this was so much fun to do. Ashley is also going to give away two products to one of my readers. The first product will be my favorite sample from the bunch, which is the Tree Hugger Sugar Lip Scrub. The second product is the Calm Down! Oatmeal Face Mask. It is a soothing mask that contains oatmeal, banana, avocado, and chamomile.
