Every month, I get excited about my Stitch Fix box! This is my third fix, and it is by far my best. I was very, very tempted to keep all of my items (and I’ll explain why I didn’t). I’m kind of kicking myself for not keeping all of them. But…. I don’t know. I’ll just explain!
So, the down side (to me) about Stitch Fix is that I only have a 3-day window to take pictures. I make my decision pretty quickly, but I was feeling under the weather during this particular weekend. Thus, no try-on pictures.
I honestly can’t remember what I asked my stylist for with this fix. Suffice to say, everything was my style AND size. My previous two boxes had skirts that I couldn’t wear at all.
Pomelo June Polka Dot Skirt, size XL, $58
I was on the fence about this skirt. It was super (SUPER) cute, it fit, it was stretchy, and I love pencil skirts. The only thing is that it fit a little too well. I mean … I had a bootay in this skirt. And while that’s all good and my husband actually didn’t think it looked bad, I looked at him and said, “I’m actually worried what other people would think about this.” And when I say something like that, it’s just not meant to be. If I had loved it enough to not care about other people’s opinions, then I would have kept it. Does that make sense? I hope so. Generally, I am a ‘wear-whatever-you-want-don’t-care-what-other-people-think’ person. But, I couldn’t help but think everyone would stare at my butt in this. I sent it back, but it was hard.
Laila Jayde Alisa Mix Stripe Front Pocket Shirt, size M, $68
So, since I wasn’t keeping the skirt, I wasn’t getting the 25% discount. Sending back just the skirt would have made my order about $9 more. So, this shirt got sent back. This is the item that I wish I had kept! This fit so well, and it was super comfortable. It was actually slimming. Basically, the perfect weekend top. If I could go back, I would keep all the items and sell the skirt. Alas… live and learn. The next time I think I should keep all my items, I will do just that. Now, on to the items that did stay with me!
Market and Spruce Spencer Striped Jersey Dress, size XL, $58
This dress is basically perfect. I am loving fit and flares right now, and I always have (and always will) love stripes. This shade of green is not one that I would pick up for myself, but it looks really good with my skin tone. I’ve worn this a couple times already.
Collective Concepts Esten Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse, size M, $54
Oh, this shirt! I never knew I could love a sleeveless top so much. Navy is my fave right now. I have worn this a ton already. In fact, when I took it out of the box, I tried it on and didn’t take it off. Seen here.
Pixley Genevieve Stacked Chevron Pendant Necklace, $28
This is the item I was (am) most excited about. See, I’ve been wanting this similar Madewell necklace for well over a year. And, well… the price is a little too steep for me and I never seem to catch it on sale. I’m sure it has gone on sale, it’s just that I’ve never noticed if it has. This necklace is eerily similar to the Madewell one. Aside from this necklace having a thicker chain and the placement of the pins in the chevron pieces, these could be twinkies. So, of course I kept it. It’s another item I tried on and didn’t take off. 🙂
My total for the three items (with my $20 styling fee applied) minus $75 in referral credits was $61. This is by far the best fix I’ve had. It really was a hard decision to send two items back. Maybe enxt month I’ll keep everything!
Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? I would love to know what you think!
