I love a good yearly recap. It is so fun to look over my outfits for the year and see how my style has changed (or not, in this case). For 2014, I focused on being intentional with my outfit choices. I only purchased items that I absolutely loved and that would add value to my closet. In previous years, my recaps would look have looked different (I think I’ve only done one for 2013, here and here). 2013 felt like a mish mash of pretty-much-favorites instead of the collection of loves that is 2014.
And even though my closet overfloweth (seriously trying to get a handle on that space issue), I am very happy with it. That’s actually a weird thing for me to say, because I can’t stand when a space feels cluttered. But, my closet is cluttered with really nice things that I love, so I can over look it. I will do a purge in a week or so, whenever my thredUP clean out bag arrives. That will help some. The crazy thing is, I think I’ll be getting rid of more shoes than anything!
These are 12 of my favorite outfits from the entire year. I’ve worn these outfits multiple times, and I still love them. In fact, a couple are ‘go-to’ ensembles, for when I’m rushed or just have no clue what I want to wear.

2014 Blog Goals
I went back and read my 2014 blog goals, and they weren’t very specific. I mean, I wanted to get a new camera, post about my clothing budget, and basically … just keep blogging. Goals achieved! Woohoo! I’m feeling pretty good about blogging.
My blog goals for 2015 are also not super specific. I just want to keep doing what I’m doing. I don’t talk about Youtube much here, but my Youtube routine took a serious nose dive over the past couple of months. I’ve decided that trying to post three times a week (twice on my beauty channel and once on my vlog channel) is too much. I plan on posting to my beauty channel on Mondays and my vlog channel on Fridays. We’ll see how that goes, but I think that will work better for me. I actually have a few videos already filmed, it’s just a matter of finding the time to edit upload.
My personal goals are more intentional and specific, but I’d like to share them since they kind of intersect with my blog. For one, I want to be more organized. I am a naturally organized person, but life felt so crazy in 2014 that I kind of lost of my with-it-ness on that front. I need to get my organizational skills back! Not only will that (obviously) help me in my personal life, but my blog will be better for it as well.
During 2015, I will continue write about my budgeting goals. In 2014, my base clothing budget was $60 and I would add in any blog money so I could buy more clothes. This suited me well, because I wanted to build up my basic items and also buy more items that I love. Next year, I do not plan on adding my blog money to my clothing budget.
In addition to sticking with the $60 per month for clothes, I will be (almost) entirely thrifting. The only exceptions are shoes and Stitch Fix. I haven’t had much luck in thrifting shoes lately, so that’s why I will allow brand new shoes into my closet. And, I love Stitch Fix. It’s brings me a lot of joy when that box comes in the mail every month, and I have had some amazing items in the past few months. The items I’ve purchased from Stitch Fix have been worn on repeat. Literally.
Other personal goals of mine are to keep with my Piyo exercise regime. I am not amazing at doing it every day, I do it when I can. I find that I’m less stressed (and more apt to exercise) when I don’t pressure myself to do it every day. I have also been focusing on eating healthfully. In May 2014, I purchased Joyous Health. It completely changed the way I see food. I have always been health conscious but have failed myself in the past few years, since we’ve been busier with school and kids (etc., you know, the usual stuff). Not only was the book SUPER informational, but it was also fun to read. I could see myself re-reading it for years to come.
This leads me to my next goal. I want to include more lifestyle posts in the future. I’d like to share how I’ve incorporated more healthy eating habits. I am by no means perfect and am still turning around my eating habits. I hope that the inclusion of lifestyle posts won’t alienate anyone. I know that my blog’s primary focus is fashion and beauty, but I feel like I’m slowly moving away from those being my only topics. As I’ve developed my personal style more, I don’t feel the need to share every single outfit that I wear. That has lead me to feel like sharing more of my life.
I feel like 2015 is going to be an amazing year!
Do you have any goals for the new year? I’d love if you’d share some of your goals with me!
