It’s been a while since I’ve written about Le Tote. My first Le Tote experience is here. I had a pretty good box the first time. It didn’t wow me and I wasn’t going to get another box, but I forgot to cancel my subscription. And boy! Am I glad I forgot!!
If you’ve never heard of Le Tote, it is a clothing subscription box. For $49, you are sent five pieces (3 clothing, 2 accessories) to rent. If you want to purchase any of them, you can at a discount.
I. Madeline Plaid Sparkle Skirt, $54
I loved this skirt straight out of the box. It fit and it was comfortable, but it (like all pencil skirts) accentuated my bootay. I could’ve worked with it and maybe worn a longer cardigan to minimize my derrière. However, I like adding pieces to my closet that I don’t have to think about it. I want whatever I add to my closet to be effortless, and this is not that.
I. Madeline Pleather Henley Top, $44
This was another item that I liked straight out of the box, but as you can see in the pictures the fabric is pretty thin. That was a turn off (especially at the price) and the color blocking stops at a weird area for my hips. It was very comfortable and I could see myself wearing this around the house throughout the year. The price is too steep for an ‘around the house’ item.
House of Harlow 1960 Sugarloaf Stud Earrings, $24
Aren’t these cute? I really liked them. They fit my style and I should have kept them. I thought $24 was kind of pricey for stud earrings. Now that I’ve thought about it some more, I wear stud earrings more than anything else. I have four holes in each of my ears and rarely switch out my studs. Why didn’t I keep these? Oh, well. Since then, I’ve found them on Amazon for $26.
Noir Luxe Chloe Antique Necklace, $28
As soon as I took this out of the box, I knew I had to keep it. It’s a gorgeous color. The bar shaped crystals don’t look very blue in the pictures, but in person they are a pretty grey-blue shade. I’ve worn this necklace with everything. Even thought it’s kind of sparkley, this is my grab-and-go necklace when I don’t know what jewelry to wear.
Karen Zambos Couture Ellie Top, $64
Confession: I didn’t try this on. I just couldn’t. If it came to me this wrinkled, I imagined it would look much the same at the end of a work day. In addition, I don’t like to iron every week and I have a feeling this one would need some ironing.
I am very, very glad that I forgot to cancel my subscription before this box was shipped to me. That necklace was definitely worth it.
