Wantable provided me with a credit to try their Fitness Edit services. All opinions are, and always will be, 100% my own. I have used affiliate links within this post.
I’m about to get real for a quick minute.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might have noticed a change in my … size. Let’s just be blunt. I’ve put on quite a few pounds over the past few years. The crazy thing is that I started blogging a year after our daughter was born. I lost most of the pregnancy weight pretty fast. And then…graduate school happened, along with our oldest starting school, and all those little life things that creep up. I’ve developed some pretty bad eating habits. And my fitness habits are absolutely zilch.
It’s hard for me to believe that I used to work out. In fact, I haven’t been to the gym in almost 5 years. FIVE YEARS. And I have a free gym to use at work! Well, I’m very happy to write that my very good work/gym friend and I are training for a 5K in March. I am so excited! So, I went to Target to get some things to wear to the gym, but I left feeling defeated. I had no idea what to get and felt overwhelmed by all the options. Plus, the leave much to be desired for short folks. All the exercise pants were too long. And, friends, that’s where Wantable comes in.
In case you’ve never heard of Wantable, they are a subscription service. They offer four different boxes, with the most recent release being the Fitness Edit. Their other boxes are makeup, accessories, and intimate. I’m thinking about trying the makeup box!
For $20, you pay a styling fee for one of their style editors to put together five work out clothing items. When you create your account, you answer a ton of questions about what you want/don’t want. The box arrives with a return label, in case you send any of the items back. The $20 fee is non-refundable but it is applied to the items that you purchase. If you keep the entire box, you get a 30% discount. That’s pretty awesome, in my opinion!
Here is what I received in my first box.
Climawear Aurora Space Dye Tank in Black, size M, $39
I love this style of tank top! I like neutral colors, so this is perfect except for the size. It was pretty snug, which I expect from workout clothes. I think it would be a tad more comfortable if it was one size up, so I mentioned that in the review of my box in my Wantable account. I did not keep this, and I hope my style editor sends it a large next time.
Climawear Ultimate Waist Control Shorts in Black, size L, $30
I was so surprised to like these shorts, because shorts are literally my least favorite clothing item. I just don’t feel super comfortable in them, but these like a glove! They have a high waist that sucks you in a bit. You can also roll it down if you want, but I really liked it as a high waist. I also think the price is reasonable. The only reason I sent these back is because I don’t feel comfortable in shorts. Other than that, they were awesome!
Serenity Hoodie in Neutral, size M, $49
I seriously love this hoodie, but it was a size too small. The style is so me, and I love the colors. The material was so soft and comfortable, too. Also, the thumb holes had me at hello. I want to get this in one size up!
Malibu Hoodie in Neutral, size M, $45
This next hoodie is from the same brand and in the same size, but it is less stretchy. This fits so much better! It is made of the same soft material, and there is a draw string at the bottom if you want the hem to be tighter. I really can’t explain how comfortable this is, and I love that it’s short-sleeved. Perfect! I kept this.
Climawear 2 Way Mesh-Map Capri in Black, size L, $40
This is another feels so comfortable item. I am super short, so work out pants and capris are usually too long for me. That’s fine for when I’m working out at home, as I just roll up the hem and look like a doofus. I don’t want to look like a doofus at the gym (although I probably do, haha). These have the same high waist as the shorts. You can roll it down or leave it up for some tummy control. The material is breathable and stays put. This is what I wore for barre this past weekend, and I didn’t have to fuss with the waist band or anything while I was working out. I kept these!
I really couldn’t be happier with my first fitness edit. I know that clothes don’t make the work out, but it comes pretty darn close when you feel self conscious about your body to start off with. I have already updated my sizing information for my next edit to include large tops, since most of the mediums did not work for me in this box.
I can’t wait to see my next Wantable fitness edit! And I’m seriously considering the Makeup box… what do you think?!
