For as long as Will and I have been together, the beach has been our thing. During our first summer together, we took one epic trip to Oak Island (we took many trips, but only one was epic). It was epic, because we both got amazingly sunburned. It was so bad, I had sun poisoning. We recovered from those awful sun burns, got married later that year, and we’ve been vigilant about sunscreen at the beach ever since.
All that to say, ever since Will and I met, he’s been my anchor. From getting me shaved ice while I was recovering from that sun burn, to dropping off our three kids in the morning so I can go to work early, he keeps me grounded. We depend on each other, and he is my everyday hero. He is right by my side when I need him. What’s even more amazing is that he is currently working on becoming a CPA. Every day, I am amazed at the work he does to pursue this life goal. He was actually out of town nearly every day in April, and still made time to study for the exam he was taking.
That’s why I want to give him a thoughtful gift for Father’s Day. The kids always pick out their own gifts (Izzie is giving him a cat mug! How cute is that?), but I like to get something extra special for him. Will is so good at buying gifts for me, and they’re always themed. I picked this Nautica gift set up this past weekend when we were at Macy’s, but I didn’t want to gift it in the box. I took it out of the packaging and put it in this manly looking trunk.
I also included a huge jar of bath salts that I made. I scented them with eucalyptus and cedarwood essential oils, so it’s a masculine fragrance. On that note, I want to say that Nautica Voyage is one of my favorite cologne scents. Will doesn’t wear a lot of cologne, but this one is special. It smells so fresh, with a hint of green apple. There are other notes, too, like water lotus, mimosa, and musk.
Now, I want to hear about the anchor in your life! Tell me in the comments down below how you’ll honor your special man.
