I’ve been on a huge organizational kick this year. Not only have I been decluttering, but I’ve also been streamlining and organizing most of our possessions. I’ve noticed one major plus from this. Having less possessions means there is less to clean up, which leaves more time for the important things in life.
One of those important things in life is connecting with family, near and far. There are so many special moments throughout the year, and I love to use cards to celebrate them. I keep a large collection of cards for a variety of occasions. Before I started organizing our house, I kept all the cards in one box. That method hasn’t been working very well. If there is a card at the bottom, I have to remove nearly everything to get to it. Plus, I can’t see what types of cards I have.
I recently separated my Hallmark cards into types and put them in this clear organizer. This is so much better! I used my label maker to categorize the drawers. The clear drawers allow me to see which cards I need to stock up on. I love it!
The best place to stock up on cards is Walmart, without a doubt. We had to stop by our favorite Walmart to pick up a few things this weekend. While we were there, we knocked out our card buying for the rest of the year on the Hallmark aisle! My mom’s birthday is this week, so the kids picked out a super cute card for her.
Since we stock up all at once, we shop in the Hallmark section that starts at 47 cents. That is literally my favorite section of cards. It keeps our shopping and budget simple, and the kids have a specific section they can shop in. Shopping with kids is rarely a simple task. I love that we can get our grocery, household, and gifting needs while letting the kids pick out special cards for our loved ones!
Check out these adorable Hallmark projects! They are inspiring me to get creative with my gifts.
