I always have my eye out for quick kid snacks. Although I like to cook and bake, I don’t want to be in the kitchen all day long. So, I like to do a little of both — a little homemade snack with a little quick snack. This pairing keeps the kids full and happy while we’re on the go!
My favorite snack combo is yogurt and granola. Now, I haven’t been successful in having my kids try those two snacks together in one bowl. They really prefer the two things separate. So, every week or so we make a batch of these granola bites. Paired with the Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies, it gives them fuel for all of their adventures! Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies contain only the good stuff — they do not contain any high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. They are also a good source of calcium and Vitamin D. We basically use this recipe for the granola bites, but I’ve tweaked it over the years to suit our tastes.
Right now, Walmart has a special edition 12-pack of the Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies. They are super cute with different animals in sports outfits. There’s also a pretty neat contest going on right now. It’s called the Dannon® Danimals® and Play 60 contest. If you find a “Golden Bongo” bottle (located in specially marked packages), you could win a Play60 Field Day for yoru school with NFL pros! Please check the Fuel Up To Play site (down below) for more details.
We all love this snack so much, because we easily keep it at home or on the go. When the kids pack the Dannon® Danimals® in their lunch boxes, they throw a few of the granola bites in as well. We also freeze the yogurt to put in lunches. That way, they stay super cold until lunch time.
