About a month ago, I bought a lot of new lip products from the drug store. One day, I went to Target (as you do) and there were a ton of products that caught my eye. I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on them and show what they look like on. There will be quite a few reviews in the future. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Glosses.
I am a huge fan of the L’Oreal Infallible line, because all the products are high quality and long-lasting. When I saw these in Target, I had a hard time deciding on colors. Typically, I pick three completely different colors when I buy new lippies. This time, I picked a pink, a berry, and a dark nude.
The texture of these glosses are so nice. They have a whipped, velvety feeling on the lips. I love that they’re a comfortable matte. They are not drying or cakey on my lips. I would not call them moisturizing, and I make sure that my lips are hydrated before I apply them. If you apply balm or chapstick before your lip color, you’ll want to make sure it sinks into your lips before you apply these. Otherwise, the color doesn’t completely set and dry down.
That being said, when it sets it doesn’t feel completely matte. In my opinion, it looks more like a satin finish. These are marketed as ‘all day comfort,’ which is a little misleading. These definitely do not last all day on me. And although it does transfer (minimally) to my coffee cup, it doesn’t transfer as bad as a creamy lipstick. It is definitely in the middle ground between a regular lipstick and a liquid lipstick (or a lip paint). For me, it lasts until lunch time and I reapply after I eat.
As far as texture and scent, they go on very smoothly. It actually feels good on my lips! It has a slight citrus-y scent … it’s kind of hard to place. I notice it when I’m applying the gloss, but it’s not obvious throughout the day.
The three colors I purchased are Blushing Ambition, Forbidden Kiss, and Statement Nude. My favorite is Statement Nude. It actually surprised me, because the color is very brown compared to what I usually wear. My least favorite is the Blushing Ambition, because it looks too bubble-gum-pink on me. The Forbidden Kiss color is a gorgeous berry that would look amazing on anyone.
