This month’s beauty favorites are pretty heavy on the skincare. I’ve been wearing the same makeup for about two months, so it didn’t make sense to share things that I’ve already spoken about. I am, however, using some new skincare that I really love!
Sephora Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying
I decided to try this mask after hearing it compared to the Glamglow Mud Mask. I absolutely love the Glamglow mask, but it’s very pricey. At $20, this mask is much more affordable. Both the Glamglow and the Sephora mask are clay masks, which unclog your pores. While the Glamglow mask gives your skin a tingling sensation and you only have to use it for 2 minutes, this mask gives my skin the same results. The Sephora mask has a gritty texture and it dries down in about 10-15 minutes. My skin feels very smooth and clarified when I use it. I highly recommend trying this if you like Glamglow mask or have wanted it but have been turned off by the high price.
Sunday Riley Luna Night Sleeping Oil & Good Genes
I bought these two items as a value set during the last Sephora VIB sale. The kit costs $78. After hearing so many rave reviews about these products, I knew I had to try them. I am so glad that I did! The Luna Night Sleepin Oil has retinol and Blue Tansy oil it. The Good Genes is a Lactic Acid Treatment. I use both of them at night before my moisturizer. The products claim to bright, plump wrinkles, and treat hyperpigmentation. My skin has never looked this good before. I have actually been wearing less foundation, because my skin looks so healthy and radiant. The only draw back is the price. Even in a discounted value set, these two products are very expensive. And these aren’t even the full size products! I like to think that I’ll repurchase them, but I have not decided yet if I will. The only drawback is the price, so if I have money to splurge on them I will definitely repurchase.
Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30
Since retinol makes your skin sensitive to the sun, and I live in a hot, sunny climate, I’ve been applying sunscreen every morning. I know I should apply it everyday anyways, so maybe this will create a good morning habit. This serum is so nice on my skin. It feels hydrating and nourishing, yet it isn’t greasy. I can not recommend the Supergoop brand enough. Their face sunscreens are some of the best I’ve ever tried.
Matrix Oil Wonders Volume Rose Plumping Mousse
I received this in my May Birchbox. The word ‘rose’ jumped out to me, since it’s my favorite scent. I also got the shampoo and conditioner in this line, but I forgot to save the packets to include in this post. But, rest assured, the entire Volume Rose line is wonderful. It’s meant for find hair, so it has volumizing qualities. I’ve been using this mousse on days that I let my hair air dry. It gives my hair the perfect amount of hold and texture. Even though I don’t have a picture of the shampoo and conditioner samples to show you, I really love them both. My hair felt so healthy, voluminous and nourished. Everything I’ve ever tried from Matrix has been amazing, so it’s no surprise that I love this!
