In case you’ve never heard of Stitch Fix, it is a style subscription box. For $20, you can have your stylist put together a box of 5 clothing, accessories, or shoes for you. When your box arrives, you have three days to decide what you will keep. The $20 is applied to whatever you decide to keep. When you create your account, your answer an extensive quiz about what you like/don’t like, the price points you want for different categories, along with any additional information you want your stylist to know. You can subscription to it every month or schedule your fixes whenever you want to receive them. I love Stitch Fix, because it’s a way to try clothing items that are a little out of my comfort zone. Plus, it’s fun to have someone else shop for you!
A couple months ago, when Princess Kate and Prince William were on their India tour, I was keeping up with the outfits she wore. Well, wait. Let’s back up a bit. I pretty much always keep up with her outfits and especially during the India tour! I loved all of the clothes she wore. Although, did you see how much was spent on her outfits? Outrageous! I obviously don’t have that level of budget, so I requested a Stitch Fix box inspired by Princess Kate’s India tour outfits. I was so happy with the items my stylist sent me.
OneMarket Toree Maxi Dress, $88
I was hoping my stylist would send me at least one maxi dress in this fix. This gorgeous print is perfect for summer. The lightweight fabric would be perfect during the heat (um, like this week!). I love all of the colors in the print, and it was so tempting to keep. I didn’t really care for it when I tried it on. The pale pink did not suit my skin tone. Even though it was gorgeous, I sent this one back.
London Times Anaisey Jersey Dress, $68
Yes, yes, a million times yes! Is it any surprise that I kept this dress? I love everything about it. The sleeves, the length, the fabric, the colors, everything! I don’t have anything like this in my closet and it fits me very well. I also like the price point. In fact, everything in my fix was affordable. I kept this dress!
Pixley Dardie Lace Inset Blouse, $58
Renee C Audriana A Line Skirt, $58
These two items were similar to the maxi dress. I absolutely loved them when I pulled them out of the box, but when I tried them on they were a bit ‘meh.’ The top was definitely a size or two too big. I have a few sleeveless, navy tops. The skirt was so pretty but I couldn’t figure out what to pair it with in my closet. So, I sent both of these items back.
41Hawthorn Catalonia Scallop Trim Blouse, $54
This deep coral blouse is exactly what I’ve been looking for — something slightly ‘fancier’ but casual at the same time. I like to have tops that do double duty. I absolutely love the style and color of this blouse. The scalloped edging is so feminine and cute. This was an immediate ‘yes!!’ for me, so I kept it.
