Since it’s officially fall, it’s actually appropriate to share my favorite baked apple recipe! Side note: I am actually allergic to raw apples. So, I devour any kind of cooked apple. For some reason, whatever I’m allergic to is cooked out of apples. I don’t understand it… but there it is.
There is really nothing better than the smell of baking
apples. It makes the house smell like cinnamon and butter and nutmeg
and clove … it’s almost better than my BBW Pumpkin Pecan Waffle candle. 😉
Baked Apples
All you need is:
4 apples, cored
4 tablespoons of butter, cut into 8 equal pieces
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Line a casserole dish with parchment paper. Place the cored apples in the casserole dish.
3. Place two pieces of butter inside each apple.
4.
Mix together the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Pack as much of
the mixture into each apple. Sprinkle the rest of the mixture on top.
It’s okay if the overflow falls into the parchment paper.
5.
Baked for about 45 minutes, checking it after every 15 minutes. As
the mixture melts, I like to spoon it over the top of the apples.
6. Serve with ice cream and enjoy!
