Throughout 2016, I shared a little bit about my planner here and there. I used an Erin Condren planner for the first time. In fact, I had one for my personal life and I also had one for my blog and Youtube channels. Having a planner is something I’ve had for years. In fact, I didn’t know that so many people loved planners as much as I do, until I found the planner community on Instagram and Youtube in late 2015.
While I’ve mostly purchased my planners at different stores, like Papyrus or Target or wherever else I happen to find them, I ventured into the more expensive planners in 2016. You can definitely find affordable planners everywhere you shop. Planning does not require a pricey planner or stickers or special pens. But, I can’t deny the fact that I have a lot of fun and get a lot of satisfaction over taking time to write things in my planner.
I do have a variety of stickers, pens and washi tape to use in my planner. But, they’re simply there for when I have the time to use them. Some weeks, it’s all I can do to write down my to do list for the week. Some weeks, I have the motivation and time to plan out a whole week and use stickers to make the week pretty.
For 2017, I’ve decided on an Inkwell Press Flex Planner. I’ve seen many planning videos with this specific Inkwell Press Planner layout and really enjoy the flexibility (no pun intended) it has, yet has structure for goal setting every month. Inkwell Press is actually right here in North Carolina! Although it’s not local to me (they’re on the other side of the state from me), I love supporting North Carolina businesses. To make it even better, they have a referral program. If you click my link, it will give you $10 off your first purchase of $50 or more!
So, without further adieu, let’s take a look inside the Inkwell Press Planner.
I chose this cover for my Inkwell Press Planner because of the simplicity in design. I’ve since added my monogram that I ordered from my friend’s Etsy Shop.
The Inkwell Press Planner comes with a removable ruler. I use this to cut washi tape and to mark the current month.
In the front of the Inkwell Press Planner, there’s a perpetual calendar. This is very helpful for marking important dates or birthdays. I use it for marking birthdays and anniversaries. At the beginning of the every month, I sit together to plan gift purchases and sending out cards.
These Inkwell Press Planner pages are really great for goal planning. I am not sure if I will break up my goals into quarters, but it might be nice to reflect throughout the year to make sure I’m still working towards my goals.
This page is pretty self explanatory. It’s a 2017 calendar.
Each month, the Inkwell Press Planner has a monthly lay out. At the beginning of the month, I mark important appointments, birthdays or anniversaries from my perpetual calendar, and anything else that’s going on.
This might be my favorite page in the entire Inkwell Press Planner. Well .. not this specific page, but the goal sheets right before the weekly planning pages. The design is so pretty, and the colorway is calming. Speaking of colorways, the colors rotate throughout the year between four colorways. All of the colors are calming and very pretty.
I love the weekly layout of my Inkwell Press Planner! My favorite part is the section to the right of each day that’s divided into three compartments. This will be so great for keeping track of household chores, meal planning, or workouts. I am not sure how I’m going to layout the section yet.
At the end of each month, there are pages for note taking and whatever else you need it for. I know scratch paper is something I always need, so these will come in handy.
At the end of all the months, there are two sections that are great help in organizing.
There is a gift list, which will definitely get utilized. We keep a budget for gifts, and this will help me keep track of what we spend.
The next pages might not be used a ton. We probably won’t be doing a ton of traveling in 2017, but if you do travel this is where you can keep track of what you spend, etc.
If you like to keep track of movies and books, this will also be helpful. I don’t really keep track of movies and I use Goodreads for my books, so these probably won’t be useful for me.
This is another really great idea that won’t work for me. I use an app on my phone for our budget, so pen/paper isn’t practical for me. But, the design is pretty and looks functional.
This is another set of pages of the Inkwell Press Planner that excites me. 🙂 I don’t know why graph paper is so satisfying to write on, but I’m really glad they included this in the back!
In the back, you get a calendar for 2018 and a pocket to keep extra things in.
After the pocket folder, you have an envelope to keep even more things in. I love this gray color, too!
I’m not sure if planner content would be interesting to anyone. To be honest, I always intend to share my weekly spreads but never end up getting around to it. I have purchased a few stickers in that are similar to the Inkwell Press colorways, and I’m super excited to use them.
If you use a planner, what did you decide on for 2017? Do you also have a Inkwell Press Planner?
