I absolutely love the holiday season. This is my favorite time of year. And I honestly love everything about it. The hustle and bustle, the family time, the cooking, and literally everything else. Isn’t it so fun to have a huge group of people together and share a meal? This is the time of year to pull out your recipes for large crowds, and I have the perfect casserole recipe for you.
This is actually a breakfast casserole. If you’re hosting a breakfast or brunch, this is definitely a crowd pleaser. And the best thing is, it’s so easy to make. If you like to make things from scratch, you can definitely make some of the components from scratch. However, if you like to keep things easy, all the ingredients can be purchased ready made.
As much as I love cooking and baking during the holiday season, I dislike the cleaning up just as much. At the end, I’m going to share how I clean it all up with the new Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths from Walmart.
Easy Peasy Breakfast Casserole
You need:
1 can of refrigerated biscuits, each cut into 4 pieces
1 package of white peppered gravy, prepared per the instructions
1 pound of sausage, browned
6 eggs, beaten
1 cup of cheddar cheese
1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
2. Arrange the biscuits bits evenly in a 9×13 pan.
3. Combine the browned sausage and peppered gravy.
4. Pour the gravy mixture over the biscuits in the pan.
5. Pour the beaten eggs over the mixture in the pan. Tilt the pan a bit to insure the eggs reach all the edges of the pan.
6. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top.
7. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheddar cheese is bubbly.
This is one of our favorite breakfast casseroles, hands down! Friday tends to be our night to have breakfast for dinner. If I make this on Friday, we end up eating on it for a few days after. So, if you’re having a large group, you might want to make two batches so everyone has enough.
Cleaning up this casserole is not as easy as making it, unless I use my Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth. This cloth is so cool. One side is soft and the other side has scrubbing dots that originated on their stay clean sponges. The scrubbing dots are so efficient, and yet they don’t scratch anything. I’ve used this scrubbing cloth on all the surfaces in our kitchen, since it’s so efficient.
In addition to being super tough with stuck-on food, these cloths are resilient. They are washable, sturdy, and reusable. I love that they last so long!
