In October of this year, my blog will have it’s 6th birthday. It’s really, really hard to believe that it’s been that long since this space became mine. When I think back on what 2011 was like in the blog world, it’s so funny how things have changed! Kendi was the first fashion blogger I started reading, I didn’t know people could this for a living, and those were the days when my pictures were teeny tiny and sometimes out of focus.
One trend from back then that I vividly remember is colorblocking. I can’t remember if it was 2011 or 2012, but there was one summer when everyone was colorblocking their outfits. If you’re not sure what colorblocking is, it’s basically just wearing solid pieces together. It’s great when you have bright & contrasting colors … or it’s great when you’re running late for the umpteenth time in a week and just want to throw on some clothes and go to work. (see below)
