It has been so long since I last wrote a beauty favorites post. This has been a long time coming! To be honest, after the crazy busy-ness of the second half of 2016, I was using the same products day in and day out. Any way to keep my life simplified, right?! 😉 When my routine gets hectic, I use my tried-and-true favorites. Since things have settled down for just a little bit, I’ve had time to use some new products and rediscover some old favorites. Here are just a few of my beauty favorites from the month of February.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
This first favorite is probably not a surprise. Last month, I shared my favorite go-to look using this palette. Since then, I’ve added the gorgeous shade Buon Fresco into my look. It tones down the shimmery Vermeer just a bit (not too much! I do love that shimmer). I’ll be playing around with this palette a bit more this month, since I haven’t used the warmer colors yet.
fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Nude
I have been a fan of the fresh Sugar Lip Treatments for a long time. They are very, very hydrating and have saved my dry lips even on their driest days! This fave is more about the color. I’ve used the plain balm and the Rosé color a ton. This nude color was in a value set that I purchased from Sephora in December. I was so surprised that this color looks good on me. It really gives my skin a natural glow, so this has been in my purse all month.
Bite Beauty The Lip Pencil in 020
If you missed my post about the new Bite Beauty lip pencil, you can check it out here. This lip pencil is so nice, it’s been in my makeup routine nearly all month. The creaminess is my favorite quality about them. There’s nothing worse than a scraping a dry lip pencil across your lips. This one is so easy to apply. Since it contains three times the usual amount of pigment, a little goes a long way.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation
I reviewed my favorite foundation of all time this week. Now, here’s another foundation I need to review! This has been in my collection since November, so I’ve had a lot of time to use it. This has become my go-to foundation lately, simply because it looks best when applied with my hands. I usually use a large fluffy foundation brush, a buffing brush, or a damp beauty blender. One day, I was in a rush and used my hands. Well, I haven’t gone back to using a tool yet! I don’t know why my hands apply it better, but they just do. This is a light to medium coverage foundation that gives my skin a natural glow. At $39, it is on the affordable end of high-end foundations.
Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter
This is an old favorite! I’ve been using this for years and recently picked up again at the store. This has been my favorite under eye concealer from the drug store. It conceals my dark circles and brightens the area at the same time. The application brush is very soft, and the product seems to last forever!
After using up my beloved Guerlain Maxilash Mascara last year, I was on the hunt for an affordable mascara that will hold a curl in my stick straight lashes. When this mascara released last year, I saw many ads for it and picked it up on a whim. This past month, I finally gave it a whirl. This mascara is amazing! It claims to hold a curl for 24 hours, but there is no way I’m testing it. It holds a curl for me for 14 hours. That is the longest that I wear my makeup (from the beginning of the day until the kids go to bed). Now, I’m not saying this is replacing my favorite Guerlain mascara, but it’s quick second place option until I treat myself again. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this month’s round up of my favorite beauty products. What have you been loving lately?
