Guys, lately my life has felt like crazy town. We’ve been packing, moving, and unpacking for what seems like forever … but really it’s only been a little more than a week. The first morning I had to myself, I scooted over to Durham to have some much needed ‘me’ time.
If there’s one place I got to shop, eat, and have fun, it’s definitely Durham,NC. There is a huge variety of things to do. Of course, their downtown area is known for being very hip. If you love to shop at independent retailers, you should definitely check it out. Even if you love more ‘big box’ retailers, you’ll find exactly what you want. There is literally something for everyone. In fact, my favorite mall is in Durham.
That was my destination the other day. I headed straight to that area, because of course there’s not only shopping at the mall but also in the area surrounding it. First things first, I stopped by my usual Starbucks across the street. I was going to head into the Nordstrom Rack, but completely got distracted by the Pier One. I’ve been on the look out for a mirror for our dining room. Of course, I forgot to bring the measurements with me. It’ll have to wait until my next trip to Durham, NC.
After browsing through Pier One, I headed across the street to the Streets at Southpoint. It is literally my favorite mall. It no only has a really cute aesthetic on the interior, but the outdoor shopping is just as cute. There’s a reason it’s called Streets at Southpoint. 😉 The outdoor shopping area looks like a cute little town. And the entire mall has an old warehouse feeling to it that I love.
It was a good thing I headed out as early as I did, because the mall was super busy by the time I left!
If you’re headed to the area this summer, you really need to check out Durham. From the Burt’s Bees store to Streets at Southpoint to Brightleaf Square to DPAC to the Museum of Life & Science, there is literally something to everyone to do/eat/see!
On this particular day, the kids were at camp; however, my trip would’ve been a little different if we’d gone as a family. Here are some really fun kid-friendly things to do in Durham.
