Can you believe the summer has come and gone so fast? Our kids just went back to school today, and I definitely have mixed feelings about it. Of course we’re all ready to get back to a normal routine, but the fun of summer is definitely going to be missed. I thought it’s the perfect time to share a super simple & cute after school snack that you could easily make with your kids!
My kids absolutely love cheese and fruit for a snack. We also keep a pack of Coca-Cola™ Red Mini Cans on hand, because it’s the perfect amount of Coca-Cola to go with our snack. The snack we love to pair with it is fruit & cheese kabobs. I prepare the fruit and cheese, and the kids get to create the kabobs.
I star by slicing a chunk of cheddar cheese. Then, I use mini cookie cutters to cut out interesting shapes. I found an inexpensive set that has a star, heart, teddy bear, and bunny rabbit. After that, I wash and prepare the fruit. I wash the grapes and blueberries, and I wash and chop the apples.
Once everything is wash and chopped, I sort the fruits and cheese into bowls and get out the mini kabob sticks. I found some cute, colorful skewers that are the perfect size for this snack. Then, the kids get to making their kabobs!
We munch on our kabobs for a while before we go over homework and do our chores for the evening. The combo of fruit, cheese, and Coca-Cola is so satisfying. It’s exactly what we need to take a break & spend quality time together. The kids have so much fun creating and eating our snack, and I love having Coca-Cola Red Mini Cans on hand for special moments like this.
Now that I’ve shared a yummy after school snack, share with me what your kids snack on after school!
