Towards the end of the summer, I shared on Instagram that we adopted a kitten. Zoe is the latest addition to our household. That particular weekend, our local shelter (along with others in the surrounding area) had a Clear the Shelter event. All adoptions that weekend were free, so we decided to check out the kittens. We’d been planning on adopting a kitten at some time, and the advertised event spurred our interest.
Zoe has been so much fun. Our kids are so good at making sure she has water and food, and they spend so much time playing with her. She’s so sweet, but she also has a feisty side. That kitten energy is no joke!
When we adopted her, she was about 6 weeks old. She was brought to the shelter a couple weeks prior. They don’t know what happened to the mom, and she was brought in with her brother. When we brought her home, she was so tiny and she looked a little malnourished. I feel 100% certain that she was well-fed at the shelter, but she was so young and, ideally, should have been with her mom longer.
We’ve gone through a few different types of food for her before we decided on the Science Diet®. The first week or so was a huge challenge, because her stomach was definitely upset. It took about a week to figure out which food is best for her, and the Science Diet for indoor kittens has been amazing. What makes it even better is that she loves it, too! I love that they have wholesome ingredients, precise nutrition, and high-quality standards. They also have a canned version for indoor cats.
Science Diet does not have any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. It contains natural ingredients plus vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Their cat food promotes healthy, gentle digestion for easy litter box clean up. 😉
And I have to make mention of their bags. The bags are resealable, and they stay put. I love them! It’s great that I don’t need a separate container to store the food. And, total bonus, I can easily order this on Amazon. As a busy mom of three non-furry kiddos, if I can add one more thing to my monthly Amazon order, then that is one less thing I have to run to the store for.
It’s pretty cool that if you sign up for auto ship, you immediately get 5% off. Convenience and savings is a total win in my book! You can read more about the Subscribe & Save benefits here.
